Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Keith Gill, Stonehill (Jr., Brockton, Mass.) Placed second in the
1,000 meters to earn All-New England honors at the New England
Championships. Also part of the second place 4 x 800 relay team
that also placed second with a school record time of 7:40.95.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Sr., Cranston, R.I.) Earned All-New
England honors in the mile with a fifth place finish time of
4:58.35, qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week
Robert Kiekweg, Umass-Lowell (Fr., Salem, NH) Earned All-New
England honors in both the heptathlon and 55 meter hurdles. Placed
fourth in the heptathlon, highlighted by winning the 55 meter
hurdles (7.92), placing second in the 55 meter dash (6.88), tying
for third in the pole vault (10’ 11.75”) and placing
fourth in both the long jump (20’ 3.75”) and the shot
put (34’ 10.5”). Also placed seventh in the 55-meter
hurdles, posting a time of 7.90 second in the semifinal and 7.79 in
the final.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week
Barbara Powell, Bentley (Fr., Granby, Mass.) Placed ninth overall
in the 1,000 meters at the New Englands, posting a time of 2:59.09
in the finals after qualifying with a time of 2:58.10.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Robert Keizer, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Great Neck, NY) - Took
second at the New England Championships in the triple jump.
Finished with a distance of 15.01 meters (49 feet 3 inches).
Received All-New England recognition and also finished 12th in the
long jump with a distance of 6.58 meters (21 feet 7.25 inches).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Dan Darcy, Bentley (Fr., Sharon, Mass.) Finished third amongst
Northeast-10 runners and 14th overall in the 1,000 meters at the
New England Championships with a time of 2:31.46. Also helped
Bentley to a 15th place finish in the 4 x 800 relay, with a time of
7:57.26.
Hafiz Greigre, Bryant (Jr., Attleboro, Mass.) Placed third in the
finals of the men’s 200 meters at the New England
Championships, finishing in a school record time of 21.33. Also
finished seventh in the prelims of the men’s 55-meter dash in
6.46.
Natasha Stevenson, Bryant (Sr., Haverhill, Mass.) Placed 18th in
the prelims of the women’s 55 meters at the New England
Championships in a time of 7.48 and later placed 11th in the
prelims of the women’s 200 meters in 25.53.
Clint Cooper, UMass-Lowell (Sr., Raynham, Mass.) Captured All-New
England honors in two events at the New England Championships.
Placed second in the 400-meter dash in 48.37 second and third place
in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3:15.25.
Mike Davis, UMass-Lowell (Sr., Burlington, Mass) Placed eight
overall in the shot put with a distance of 50’ 0.5”
earning All-New England honors.
Andrew Grange, UMass-Lowell (So., Methuen, Mass.) Earned All-New
England honors in two events. Placed third in the 400-meter dash in
48.52 seconds and helped the 4 x 400 meter relay team to third
place in 3:15.25.
Mike Cebula, Southern Connecticut (Sr., White Plains, NY) -
Finished as an All-New England honoree at the 2007 New England
Championships with a fourth place finish in the 1-mile run in a
time of 4:12.09.
Corey Mosely, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Bethany, CT) - Received
All-New England honors in several events at the 2007 New England
Championships. Took fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of
1:53.72 and was a member of the 4x800 relay team that finished as
an All-New England team in the sixth position with a time of
7:49.34.
Dana Burbank, Stonehill (Sr., North Andover, Mass.) Finished third
in heptathlon with 4,511 points to earn All-New England honors at
the New England Championships.
Krista Coriarty, Stonehill (So., Brockton, Mass.) Placed seventh in
the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:58.76 to earn All-New England
honors at the New England Championships.
Torrey Price, Stonehill (So., Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) Placed fourth in
55 meters to earn All-New England honors at the New England
Championships with a time of 6.40.
Joe Ryan, Stonehill (Jr., Chelmsford, Mass.) Place sixth in 5,000
meters at the New England Championships with a time of 14:54.68 to
earn All-New England honors in the event.
Vinnie Williams, Stonehill (Sr., Springfield, Mass.) Placed fourth
in 200 meters at New England Championship with a time of 21.90 to
earn All-New England honors and qualify for the NCAA Indoor
Championships.
Weekly Notes:
STONEHILL: Both Skyhawk squads posted their
highest team finishes ever at last weekend's New England
Championships, as the Stonehill men placed ninth and the women 19th
overall in the competition, with a total of seven Skyhawks earning
all-New England honors. Stonehill has four individuals and one team
that have already qualified to compete at the upcoming NCAA
Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 9-10 at
the Reggie Lewis Center, as the College will serve as co-host of
the event for the second straight year.
