Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Keith Gill, Stonehill (Jr., Brockton, MA) - Earned All-America honors in the mile at the NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 4:08.40 that was good for fifth place in the event.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Earned All-American honors in two events at the NCAA Championship. Placed second in the 5,000 meters in 16:57.48 and ran the mile in 4:59 on the distance medley relay team which captured All-America status and placed seventh with a time of 11:58.78.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week

Doug Caves, UMass Lowell (Fr., Oxford, MA) - Earned All-American honors in the 4X400 meter relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran his leg in 48.6 seconds as UML placed fourth with a time of 3:14.38. Also placed 13th in the 400-meter dash in 49.23.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Fr., Marshfield, MA) - Ran the 800 meters on the distance medley relay team which placed seventh and earned All-America honors at the NCAA Championship. Posted a time of 2:15.80 in the 800 meters and helped UML to a time of 11:58.78. Also ran a leg on the 4X400 meter relay team, which placed 10th in 3:53.60.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Erick Colon, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, MA) - Earned All-American honors in the 4X400 meter relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran his leg in 49.2 seconds as UMass Lowell placed fourth with a time of 3:14.38.

Clint Cooper, UMass Lowell (Sr., Raynham, MA) - Earned All-American honors in the 4X400 meter relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran his leg in 47.7 seconds as UMass Lowell placed fourth with a time of 3:14.38.

Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (So., Marstons Mills, MA) - Ran the 1,200 meters on the distance medley relay team which placed seventh and earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championship. Posted a time of 3:42 in the 1,200 as UMass Lowell finished in 11:58.78.

Andrew Grange, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, MA) - Earned All-American honors in the 4X400 meter relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran his leg in 48.5 seconds as UMass Lowell placed fourth with a time of 3:14.38. Also placed 12th in the 400-meter dash in 49.08 seconds.

Toni-Marie Henry, UMass Lowell (Sr., Springfield, MA) - Ran the 400 meter dash on the distance medley relay team which placed seventh and earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championship. Posted a time of 59.2 seconds in the 400 as UMass Lowell finished in 11:58.78.

Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Sr., Cranston, RI) - Posted a time of 4:55.80 in the national championship mile at the 2007 NCAA Division II Championships, just missing All-America honors by .65 seconds in the event.

Torrey Price, Stonehill (So., Sleepy Hollow, NY) - Earned All-America honors in the 60 meters at the NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 6.84 seconds, good for sixth place in the event.

UMASS LOWELL:
Senior Nicole Plante (North Adams, MA) and two UMass Lowell relay teams earned All-American honors over the weekend at the NCAA Championship. Plante tied the school record for All-American honors by a female athlete in a career as she earned her sixth and seventh honors over the weekend. Plante placed second in the 5,000 meters in 16:57.48 and ran the mile (4:59) on UML's distance medley relay team, which took seventh, despite a dropped baton, in 11:58.78, the second-fastest time in UML history. Plante tied the record of seven; originally set by former sprinter/jumper Jill Croft (1998-2002)...Plante was one of five UMass Lowell athletes who added to their lists of All-America titles. Seniors Clint Cooper (Raynham, MA) (4X400) and Toni-Marie Henry (Springfield, MA) (DMR) earned the honors for the fourth time in their careers while sophomore Andrew Grange (Methuen) and senior Erick Colon (Methuen, MA) both earned accolades for the second time as members of the 4X400 team. Three UML athletes were named All-Americans for the first time, including freshman Doug Caves (Oxford, MA) in the 4X400, sophomore Christina DaLomba (Marstons Mills, MA) in the DMR, and freshman Haley Catarius (Marshfield, MA) in the DMR...UMass Lowell opens the outdoor season Friday and Saturday in the UNC-Charlotte 49er Classic. STONEHILL: The Skyhawk men finished tied for 17th in the final team standings at the 2007 NCAA Division II Championships over the weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center, as junior Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) became the first three-sport All-America performer in school history with a fifth place finish in the mile. Sophomore Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) joined Gill as Stonehill's first two individual indoor All-America performers by placing sixth in the 60 meters, while the men's distance medley relay team of seniors Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) and Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.), along with juniors Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.), earned All-America honors with an eighth place time of 10:04.64 in the event.
