Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Justin Oliver, UMass Lowell (So., Lowell, Mass.) - Guided UMass Lowell to the 4X200 meter relay title and second place in the 4X400 meter relay at the Dartmouth Relays. Ran a 23.4-second leg in the 200 as UML posted a time of 1:34.45. Also ran a 51.3-second split in the 400 as UML placed second overall and tops among U.S. Colleges in 3:21.24.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Melissa Bredice, Saint Rose (So., Colonie, N.Y.) - Took nearly three seconds off the 12-year old school record in the 5,000-meter run with a second place time of 19:24.05 at the Crowell Open hosted by the United States Military Academy. Was merely two seconds off the winning pace.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week

Jeff Brighenti, UMass Lowell (Fr., Westminster, Mass.) - Helped guide UMass Lowell to the 4X200 meter relay title and second place in the 4X400 meter relay at the Dartmouth Relays. Ran a 23.6-second leg in the 200 as UML posted a time of 1:34.45. Also ran a 51.4-second split in the 400 as the team placed second overall and tops among U.S. Colleges in 3:21.24.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Lyra Clark, UMass Lowell (Fr., Nashua, N.H.) - Placed sixth overall and second among Division II-III runners in the mile at the Dartmouth Relays. Ran the course in 5:07.18.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Kevin Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Bristol, Conn.) - Placed second out of 37 competitors in the long jump with a jump of 7.06 meters (23’2. 00”) at the Yale Invitational.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Olivia Thibou, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, Mass.) - Captured the long jump and placed third overall and tops among Division II-III athletes in the triple jump at the Dartmouth Relays. Won the long jump with a distance of 17' 6.26'' and posted a distance of 35' 5.25'' in the triple.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week

Cory Murray, UMass Lowell (Fr., Methuen, Mass.) - Placed third overall and tops among collegiate throwers in the shot put at the Dartmouth Relays. Threw for a distance of 51' 6.25''.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Matt Blazon, UMass Lowell (Fr., Lowell, Mass.) - Placed fourth overall and first among Division II-III athletes in the heptathlon at the Dartmouth Relays. Compiled 4,270 points and highlighted the seven events by placing third in both the 60 meter hurdles (8.92 seconds) and the 1,000 meters (2:48.88).

Terry Young, UMass Lowell (Sr., Mansfield, Mass.) - Placed second overall and first among U.S. Collegiate athletes in the long jump at the Dartmouth Relays. Leaped to a distance of 22' 1.75''.

Joe Coleman, Saint Rose (So., Colonie, N.Y.) - Was part of the winning 4x800 relay squad that competed at the Crowell Open hosted by the United States Military Academy . The squad broke the tape in 8:10.26. Also took seventh in the 1,000-meter run with a respective time of 2:39.60.

Kevin Jackson, Saint Rose (Jr., Schenectady, N.Y.) - Took first in the 60-meter hurdles and was also ninth in the long jump at the Crowell Open held at the United States Military Academy. Had a winning time of 8.33 in the 60m hurdles, which broke the school record. Also recorded a leap of 21 feet, 1.50 inches in the long jump competition.

Román Henry, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Won the 500-meter dash at the Fordham Invitational with a time of 1:04.52.

Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Won the pole vault at the Yale Invitational by a full 0.3 meters, turning in a vault of 3.60 meters.

Katherine Reynolds, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Hamden, Conn.) - Placed third of 25 participants in the weight throw with a throw of 16.40 meters at the Yale Invitational. Also placed fifth out of 17 in the shot put with a throw of 12.20 meters.
