Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Robert Liekweg, UMass Lowell (So., Salem, N.H.) - Won the 55 meter
hurdles at the Tufts University Stampede with a time of 7.81
seconds. Also placed second in the 400 meter dash in 50.69 seconds
and eighth in the pole vault, clearing 11' 3.5''.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Gillian Mundry, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, Mass.) – Finished
seventh in the 55 meter dash (7.61 seconds) at the Tufts University
Stampede. In addition, placed third in the long jump
(16’11.5” and sixth in the triple jump
(34’1.5”).
Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week
Kevin Gill, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - Took top honors in
the 1000 Meter Run with a time of 2:28.65 at Tufts Stampede. Set a
new school record for the fastest time by a freshman. Also
automatically qualified for the New England's and IC4A's.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week
Angela Miller, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - Was one of four
members in the 4x 200 team to set a new school record at Tufts
Stampede with a time of 1:51.35.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
John Brinley, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) -
Placed second in the weight throw at the Lafayette Rider Winter
Games with an NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 58'6.75".
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Jacqui Barrett, UMass Lowell (So., Woburn, Mass.) - Won the shot
put at the Tufts University Stampede with a season-best throw of
42' 9.75, marking her third shot put tile of the season.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week
Cory Murray, UMass Lowell (Fr., Methuen, Mass.) - Won the shot put
at the Tufts University Stampede and provisionally qualified for
the NCAA Championship in the shot put. Threw for a season-best
distance of 54' 2.75, which currently ranks ninth on the Division
II list.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week
Bethany Staiti, UMass Lowell (Fr., Barre, Mass.) - Placed third in
the shot put at the Tufts University Stampede with a throw of 39'
1.75''.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Nicolena Asaro, Saint Rose (Sr., Minisink Valley, N.Y.) -
Established a school record in the weight throw at the
Rider/Lafayette Winter Games. Broke the 12-year old mark by over
two feet with a toss of 36 feet, 2.8 inches to take 19th in the
event.
Roman Henry, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Won the
500 meter run at the Lafayette Rider Winter Games with a time of
1:04.10.
Larry Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Stratford, Conn.) -
Finished third in the 60 meter dash at the Lafayette Rider Winter
Games with a time of 6.90 seconds.
McNeil Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) -
Finished second in the 500 meter run at the Lafayette Rider Winter
Games with a time of 6:10.33.
Amanda Carnevale, Stonehill (Sr., Stony Point, N.Y.) - Was one of
four members in the 4x 200 team to set a new school record at the
Tufts Stampede with a time of 1:51.35.
Ashley George, Stonehill ( Fr. , Seekonk, Mass. ) – Was one
of four members in the 4x 200 team to set a new school record at
Tufts Stampede with a time of 1:51.35.
Keith Gill, Stonehill (Sr., Brockton, Mass.) - Finished first after
registering a time of 1:53.64 in the 800 Meter Run at the Tufts
Stampeded.
Katrina Harkins, Stonehill (So., Derry, N.H.) - Was one of four
members in the 4x 200 team to set a new school record at Tufts
Stampede with a time of 1:51.35.
Daniel Newton, Stonehill (Fr., Reading, Mass.) - Registered a
43’7” throw in the Shot Put to claim a new school mark
at the Tufts Stampede. Earned sixth place in the event.
