Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Stephan Ramirez, Bentley (Sr., San Antonio, Texas) - Finished first
in a 32-man field in the 3,000 meters at the Dartmouth Indoor
Classic, with a time of 8:34.30. Crossed the finish line 5.84
seconds before the number two runner.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Tristin Johnson, UMass Lowell (Sr., Pittsfield, Mass.) - Won the
400 meter dash at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational II with a time of
59.57. Helped lead UMass Lowell to second in the team
standings.
Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week
Nana Ocran, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Manchester, Conn.) - Placed
second in the 200 meter dash at the Yale Geigengack Invitational
with a time of 22.14 seconds. Was also a member of the 4x400 meter
relay team that claimed third place.
Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week
Lindsey Booth, Stonehill (Fr., Franklin, Mass.) - Registered the
best freshman time in the 1000 Meter Run at the Tufts Stampede. Ran
3:05.21 to finish with third place honors.
Northeast-10 Co-Men’s Field Athletes of the Week
Robert Keizer, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Great Neck, N.Y.) - Won
the triple jump at the Yale Geigengack Invitational with a jump of
14.66 meters (48’ 1”).
Joe D'Agostino, Stonehill (So., Canton, Mass.) - Set a school
record with a 6'7" leap in the Men's High Jump at the Tufts
Stampede. Broke the previous record of 6'6.25", to propel him to
the win.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Gillian Mundry, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, Mass.) - Won the high
jump at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational II, clearing 4' 11.0''. Led
UMass Lowell to second place in the team standings.
Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week
Cory Murray, UMass Lowell (Fr., Methuen, Mass.) - Captured the shot
put at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational II with a season-best throw of
51' 7.0''.
Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week
Corinne Flieger, Bentley (Fr., Hopkinton, Mass.) - In the Dartmouth
Indoor Classic, set a season-best in the high jump (5'2.25") with a
sixth-place finish (of 26). Also was 11th of 30 in the 60 meter
high hurdles (10.06), and a member of Bentley's 4x200 relay team
which was fourth of 11 (1:51.73).
Weekly Honor Roll:
Lloyd Brown, American International (Jr., Bloomfield, Conn.) -
Finished fifth overall in the 55 meter dash with a New England
Championship qualifying time of 6.69 seconds at Rhode Island's Mega
Meet.
Nick Jones, Bentley (Fr., Great River, N.Y.) - Finished third in
the 5000 at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic with a time of 16:29.91, a
personal best.
Samantha Robbins, Bentley (Sr., Franklin, Mass.) - At the Dartmouth
Indoor Classic, finished third of 19 in the 1,000 meters, behind a
pair of Division I runners, with a time of 3:07.17.
Thomas O'Connor, Bryant (Fr., Westwood, Mass.) - Ran well at the
University of Rhode Island Mega Meet Friday, finishing second in
the 400 meters in a time of 50.58 seconds.
Jacqui Barrett, UMass Lowell (So., Woburn, Mass.) - Won the shot
put at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational II with a season-best throw of
42' 2.0''. Helped lead UMass Lowell to second in the team
scoring
Heather McCarthy, UMass Lowell (So., Burlington, Mass.) - Ran a
26.76-second leg on the 4X200 meter relay team which placed first
in 1:46.58 at the Tufts Jumbo Invitational II. Also placed fourth
in the 200 meter dash in 26.99 seconds.
Johan Rafael, UMass Lowell (Fr., Lawrence, Mass.) - Placed second
by 1/1000th of a second in the 55 meter dash at the Tufts Jumbo
Invitational II with a time of 6.569.
Colleen Carmen, Stonehill (Fr., Drexel Hill, Pa.) – Jumped
5’1” to place third in the high jump at the Tufts
Stampede.
Dickie Gerry, Stonehill (Sr., Bow, N.H.) - Competed alongside three
other Skyhawks in the Medley Relay at the Tufts Stampede. Ran the
800 Meter leg of the race in 1:56.8. Together the men ran 9:56.89,
defeating Abilene Christian's previous mark of 9:57.04 for the
fastest time in the nation.
Keith Gill, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - Competed alongside
three other Skyhawks in the Men's Medley Relay at the Tufts
Stampede. Ran the 1 Mile leg of the race in 4:05.8. Together the
men ran 9:56.89, defeating Abilene Christian's previous mark of
9:57.04 for the fastest time in the nation.
Kevin Gill, Stonehill (Sr., Brockton, Mass.) - Competed alongside
three other Skyhawks in the Men's Medley Relay at the Tufts
Stampede. Ran the 1200 Meter leg of the race in 3:01.8. Together
the men ran 9:56.89, defeating Abilene Christian's previous mark of
9:57.04 for the fastest time in the nation.
Ashley Lane, Stonehill (Jr., Needham, Mass.) – Finished third
at the Tufts Stampede. Ran 1:01.93 in the Women's 400 Meter Dash
for the third spot.
Torrey Price, Stonehill (Jr., Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) - Claimed a
first place finish after finishing the 55 Meter Dash in 6.57, at
the Tufts Stampede.
Tom Woods, Stonehill (Sr., Medfield, Mass.) - Competed alongside
three other Skyhawks in the Men's Medley Relay at the Tufts
Stampede. Ran the 400 Meter leg of the race in 52.19. Together the
men ran 9:56.89, defeating Abilene Christian's previous mark of
9:57.04 for the fastest time in the nation.
Kevin Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Bristol, Conn.) - Placed
second in the long jump at the Yale Geigengack Invitational with a
jump of 7.01 meters (22’ 11”).
