Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week

Kevin Gill, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - After qualifying for the One Mile Run with a time of 4:14.34, finished sixth with a 4:14.90 mark at the NCAA Championships. In addition to the sixth place effort also competed in the Distance Medley Run where the Skyhawks finished fifth. Won All-America honors twice.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (So., Marshfield, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay and helped the UMass Lowell 4X400 meter relay to 10th at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 800 meters in 2:14.9 to guide the DMR team to eighth place in 12:01.85 and helped the 4X400 relay team post a time of 4:00.26.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Patricia Brice, UMass Lowell (Fr., Chelmsford, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay and helped the 4X400 meter relay team place 10th at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 400 meter dash in 57.8 seconds in the distance medley relay which placed eighth in 12:01.85. Ran a leg on the 4X400 meter relay team which posted a time of 4:00.26.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Robert Keizer, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Great Neck, N.Y.) - Earned All-American status with a sixth place performance in the triple jump with a distance of 49'2.25" at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Olivia Thibou, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, Mass.) - Placed eighth and earned All-American honors in the triple jump at the NCAA Championship. Leaped to a distance of 38 feet, 2.0 inches.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Doug Caves , UMass Lowell ( So. , Oxford, MA ) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay and placed ninth in the 400 meter dash at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 400 meter dash in the DMR in 49.10 en route to a time of 10:07.64 to place sixth. Took ninth in the open 400 meter dash in 49.48.]

Male Mike Malinowski , UMass Lowell ( So. , Peabody, MA ) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 800 meters in 1:55.60 and helped the DMR team to a time of 10:07.65, good for sixth place.

Angus MacDonald, UMass Lowell (Fr., Methuen, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 1,200 meters in 3:06.20 as the DMR team posted a time of 10:07.65 to place sixth.

Roman Henry, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Earned All-American status with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.52 at the NCAA Division II Championships.

McNeil Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) - Earned All-American status with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.52 at the NCAA Division II Championships. -

Tyrone Joseph, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Norwalk, Conn.) - Earned All-American status with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.52 at the NCAA Division II Championships. Ran the fastest leg of the relay for the Owls.

Gary K. Pope, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Earned All-American status with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:16.52 at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Weekly Notes:

Stonehill: Senior classmates Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H), Tom Woods (Medfield, Mass.) and David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) joined rookie Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) in the teams’ fifth place finish in the Distance Medley Run. The four-some registered a 10:05.35 finish in the event and all earned All-America honors.
