Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Tim Guerin, UMass-Lowell (So., Auburn, Mass.) - Placed 14th overall and third among Division II-III runners in the College Men's 3,000 Meter Steeplechase at the Penn Relays. Posted a school-record time of 9:14.28 which is good for the 10th fastest time in the country.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Co-Athletes of the Week

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Sr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II championships in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:07.38 at the Brown Invitational, good for third place, behind two Division I runners.

Letecia Taylor, Southern Conn. (So., Plainfield, N.J.) - Reached an NCAA provisional qualifying time and set a personal-best in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.24 at the Penn Relays. Finished second in the heat and 20th overall out of 47 competitors.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshmen of the Week

Kevin Gill, Stonehill (Fr., Brockton, Mass.) - Finished second in the 800 meter run at the Brown Springtime Invitational with a time of 1:55.41. The next non-Division I finisher came in ninth.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Lyra Clark, UMass-Lowell (Fr., Nashua, N.H.) - The sole Division II or II athlete in the field, placed 20th overall in the College Women's 3,000 Meters at the Penn Relays in 10:09.19, which currently ranks 25th on the Division II list.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Kevin Taylor, Southern Conn. (Sr., Bristol, Conn.) - Broke the SCSU outdoor record and reached an NCAA provisional qualifying distance in the long jump with a leap of 24'5" en route to placing second at the Penn Relays.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Jacqui Barrett, UMass-Lowell (So., Woburn, Mass.) - Placed ninth overall and second among Division II-III throwers in the Collegiate Eastern Women's Shot Put at the Penn Relays Thursday with a throw of 44' even. Captured the shot put at the Brown University Springtime Invitational with a distance of 45' 3.0'', currently ranked 11th on the Division II list for the NCAA Championship.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week

Terri Goldson, American International (Fr., Ansonia, Conn.) - Finished first in the men’s high jump, leaping 1.94 meters and ninth in the triple jump, with a mark of 11.92 meters to lead the team at the 2008 Yale Springtime Invitational

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week

Courtni Walker, Southern Conn. (Fr., Uniondale, N.Y.) - Placed third in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 16'10.75" at the Yale Springtime Invitational. Also placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 35'4.5".

Weekly Honor Roll:

Corinne Flieger, Bentley (Fr., Hopkinton, Mass.) - At the Brown Invitational, finished 8th of 18 in the 100 meter hurdles (16.03), tied for 8th of 20 in the high jump (5-1), and helped Bentley place fifth of nine in the 4x100 relay (51.35).

Joey DeWitt , UMass-Lowell (Sr., Ellsworth, Maine) - Placed fourth overall and first among Division II-III runners in the 1,500 meters in 3:54.49 at the Brown Springtime Invitational.

Diwani Augustine, Southern Connecticut (So., East Hartford, Conn.) - Won the triple jump at the Yale Springtime Invitational with a distance of 47'9". Also placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 22'1".

John Brinley, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) - Reached an NCAA provisional qualifying distance in the hammer throw with a top ten finishing heave of 177'4" at the Penn Relays.

Sherri Gamberale, Southern Connecticut (Fr., East Hampton, Conn.) - Finished fourth in the 100 meter dash with a personal-best time of 12.35 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Robert Golabek, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Hamburg, N.Y.) - Placed third in the shot put with a heave of 53'5.5" at the Yale Springtime Invitational. Recorded a toss of 50'1" in the shot put, good for a top ten finish, at the Penn Relays.

Larry Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Stratford, Conn.) - Finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.81 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational. Was a member of the 4x00 meter relay team that finished sixth, besting two Division I programs, in the IC4A Championship heat at the Penn Relays with a time of 41.61 seconds.

Ryan Kachmarsky, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Monroe, N.Y.) - Finished third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.15 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Took second place in the pole vault with a vault of 10'11.75" at the Yale Springtime Invitational. Was also sixth in the high jump with a jump of 4'11"

Gary Kendon Pope, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) - Finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.42 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Keisha Regular, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Norwalk, Conn.) - Finished second in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 15.34 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Sasha Saylor, Southern Connecticut (So., Hartford, Conn.) - Placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 36'0.75" at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Sutton Underwood, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Norwalk, Conn.) - Delivered two performances of 15' or better in the pole vault this week. Won the event at the Yale Springtime Invitational with a vault of 15'. Placed 10th at the Penn Relays with a vault of 15'1".

Symone Wong, Southern Conn. (Jr., Laurelton, N.Y.) - Finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.34 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational.

Lesley Clunie, Stonehill (Sr., Newburyport, Mass.) - Had an excellent showing, finishing second in the 5000 meters at the Brown Springtime Invitational.

David Metzger, Stonehill (Sr., Ellington, Conn.) - Won the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:25.23 at the Brown Springtime Invitational.

BENTLEY: At the Brown Invitational, junior Melissa Nash (Marshfield, Mass.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II championships, with her time of 10:07.38 a new PR by about 16 seconds.
