Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week

Kevin Downing, New Haven (Fr., Meriden, Conn.) - Was the only male individual to win multiple events at the NE-10 Championships, capturing the 55 and 200-meter dashes. Ran the third fastest time in meet history in the 55 (6.39) and the second fastest time in meet history in the 200 (21.99). Also placed third in the 400-meter dash (51.21).

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Jr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Won two events and was named the Most Valuable Athlete at the Northeast-10 Championships. Won the 500 meters with a time of 1:17.08, and also ran a 58.06-second leg on the 4X400 meter relay team which placed first in 4:02.09. Also placed second in the long jump (17 feet, 8.75 inches), and seventh in the triple jump (33' 9.25'').

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Evelyn Marrero, Bentley (Fr., Amsterdam, N.Y.) - Was the only freshman runner to win an event at the NE-10 Women’s Championships, capturing the 5,000 meters in a personal best time of 19:21.87.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Ryan Whitehead, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Darien, Conn.) - Was named the NE-10 Most Outstanding Performer at the Northeast-10 Championship after winning the pole vault with a leap of 16 feet, six inches. That figure was an NCAA qualifying mark as well as a new championship record.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Shannon Gagne, New Haven (So., Meriden, Conn.) - Won three events at the NE-10 Championships, one of which came in the field. Captured the long jump with a leap of 5.50 meters, provisionally qualifying for the national meet and took first in the 55-meter dash (7.24) and the 200-meter dash (25.88).

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Freshman of the Week

Max Hoddwells, Stonehill (Fr., Wayne, Maine) - Broke his own school record and finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 45'1.50”. Also took fourth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.98 seconds at the NE-10 Championships.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week

Bidemi Balogun, American International (Fr., Providence, R.I.) - Won the weight throw with a winning toss of 15.73 meters at the Northeast-10 Championships.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Alex Joseph, American International (So., New Britain, Conn.) - Finished first in the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters at the NE-10 Championships.

Sarah Brassard, UMass Lowell (Sr., Oxford, Mass.) – Finished first in the one-mile run at the Northeast-10 Championships with a winning time of 5:11.02, setting a new championship record.

Tricia Brice, UMass Lowell (So., Chelmsford, Mass.) – Finished first in the 800-meters at the Northeast-10 Championships with a winning time of 2:20.57.

Donte Brown, UMass Lowell (So., Raynham, Mass.) – Claimed the 400-meters title at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 49.20, setting a new championship record.

Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (Sr., Marston Mills, Mass.) – Took home first place in the 1,000-meters at the Northeast-10 championships with a time of 3:00.07.

Tim Guerin, UMass Lowell (Jr., Auburn, Mass.) – Finished first in the 5000-meters at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 15:08.60 which set a new championship record.

Angus MacDonald, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, Mass.) – Took home first place in the 1000-meters at the Northeast-10 Championships with a time of 2:30.09.

Cory Murray, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, Mass.) – Won the shot put event at the Northeast-10 Championships with a winning throw of 49’08.75”.

Lauren Raimondi, UMass Lowell (So., East Longmeadow, Mass.) – Won the high jump with a winning jump of 5’05.75” at the Northeast-10 Championships.

Diwani Augustine, Southern Connecticut (Jr., East Hartford, Conn.) - Delivered a leap of 47 feet, three-quarters inch in the triple jump to win the event at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

John Brinley, Southern Connecticut (Sr., East Hartford, Conn.) - Won the weight throw with a toss of 59 feet, five inches at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Laura Brustolon, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Mystic, Conn.) - Won the 3,000 meters and set a new Northeast-10 championship record with a time of 10:17.32 at the Northeast-10 Championship.

John Fennekohl, Southern Connecticut (So., Mamora, N.J.) - Won the 3,000 meter run in 8:56.88 at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

McNeil Johnson, Southern Connecticut (Sr., East Hartford, Conn.) - Won the 55 meter hurdles for the second straight year at the Northeast-10 Championship after posting a time of 7.90 seconds. Was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won their event with at time of 3:24.06.

Selasi Lumax, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Somerset, N.J.) - Won the 500 meters with a time of 1:06.66 at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship and was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won the event in 3:24.06.

Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Won the pole vault with a leap of 11 feet, 9 and three-quarter inches at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Adam McLean, Southern Connecticut (Jr., New Haven, Conn.) - Won the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.58 at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship and was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that won their event in 3:24.06.

Danielle Moore, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Palmdale, Calif.) - Won the 400 meters with a time of 58.76, placed second in the 500 meters in 1:18.40 and was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that claimed second in the event at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Yvonne Perkins, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Danbury, Conn.) - Won the shot put with a toss of 44 feet, 4 and three-quarter inches and third in the weight throw at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Sasha Saylor, Southern Connecticut (So., Hartford, Conn.) - Won the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 3 and one-quarter inches at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Plainfield, N.J.) - Won the 55 meter hurdles and set a new NE-10 championship with a time of 8.06 seconds. Also placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 59.27 and was named the Northeast-10 Most Outstanding Performer at the Northeast-10 Indoor Championship.

Josh Andrews, Stonehill (Jr., Chelmsford, Mass.) - Took the crown in the one mile run with a time of 4:22.84. Also anchored the Distance Medley Relay team which finished with a time of 10:37.24.

Joe D'Agostino, Stonehill (Jr., Canton, Mass.) - Took the high jump crown by going 6'6.75” at the NE-10 Championships.

Weekly Notes:

SAINT ROSE: The Saint Rose men's and women's indoor track and field teams broke three school records at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship meet Saturday afternoon. Senior Kevin Jackson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) bettered his own school mark in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.68, as did classmate Brad Lewis (Troy, NY/Troy) who finished the 3,000-meter run in 8:59.24. Meanwhile, freshman Heather Riley (Riverhead, NY/Riverhead) registered a height of 2.55-meters in the pole vault to take fifth in the event.
