Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Donte Brown, UMass Lowell (So., Raynham, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors in two events at the NCAA Championship. Placed seventh in the 400 meter dash in 49.27 seconds and also ran a 48.4-second leg in the 4X400 meter relay to lead UMass Lowell to fifth place.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Letecia Taylor, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Plainfield, N.J.) - Captured All-America honors for the second straight year as she placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.65 seconds at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that place ninth in the event with a time of 3:55.35.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Sutton Underwood , Southern Connecticut (Sr., Norwalk, Conn.) - Came through with a leap of 16 feet, 6.75 inches in the pole vault to earn All-America honors at the final day of the NCAA Division II Championships.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Yvonne Perkins, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Danbury, Conn.) - Finished sixth in the shot put at the NCAA Division II Championships with a toss of 45 feet, 9.25 inches to earn All-America honors.

Bidemi Balogun, American International (Fr., Providence, R.I.) - Finished seventh overall in the weight throw at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championship. By finishing seventh with a school record toss of 17.29 meters she becomes the first All-American in track & field in school history

Weekly Honor Roll:

Haley Catarius, UMass Lowell (Jr., Marshfield, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors in the distance medley relay for the third straight year. Ran the 800 meters in 2:15 to lead the foursome to a time of 11:57.90, good for sixth place. Also finished 11th in the 800 meters preliminary in 2:15.18, up from her seed of No 16.

Andrew Grange, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, Mass. - Earned All-American honors in two relays at the NCAA Championship. Ran the 400 meter dash in 49.6 seconds on the distance medley relay team which placed eighth in 10:19.88. Also ran a 48.8-second leg on the 4X400 meter relay team, which placed fifth in 3:16.68.

Shannon Gagne, New Haven (So., Meriden, Conn.) - Finished seventh in the 200-meter dash finals at the NCAA Division II National Championship in a time of 24.91. Became the first women's track and field student-athlete ever to score points at the national meet and earn All-American honors.

Shaina Barr, Southern Connecticut (So., Manchester, Conn.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.

Sasha Mathelier, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Freeport, N.Y.) - Finished in a four-way tie for eighth place in the pole vault with a vault of 11 feet, nine and three-fourth inches to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Championships.

Danielle Moore, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Palmdale, Calif.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.

Jennifer Munsey, Southern Connecticut (Sr., East Hartland, Conn.) - Was a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed ninth at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 3:55.35.

Kevin Gill, Stonehill (So., Brockton, Mass.) - Earned All-American honors as a member of the DMR which finished seventh at the national championships with a time of 10:19.69. Also placed 14th in the Mile with a time of 4:32.82.
