Northeast-10 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Torrey Price, Stonehill (Sr., Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) - Finished first in the 60 meter dash at the Harvard University Open, winning by one hundredth of a second with a time of 6.94 seconds.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Melissa Nash, Bentley (Sr., Marshfield, Mass.) - In her first indoor race of the season, finished first of 12 in the 5,000 meters at the Harvard Open, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Div. II Championships with a time of 17:49.52.

Northeast-10 Men’s Track Freshman of the Week

Mike Vatti, Bentley (Fr., Easton, Pa.) - At the Harvard Open, finished fourth of 62 in the 400 (50.05 seconds) and 16th of 92 in the 200 (23.20). Amongst collegians, was second in the 400 and 11th in the 400.

Northeast-10 Women’s Track Freshman of the Week

Ashley Zielinski, UMass Lowell (Fr., Manchester, N.H.) - Placed fourth overall and tops among Division II-III athletes in the 60 meter hurdles at the Harvard Open. Posted a time of 9.23 seconds.

Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Tyler Guilemette, Stonehill (Sr., East Longmeadow, Mass.) - Set a school record in the long jump (22ft 8in) and finished second at the Harvard University Open.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Jacqui Barrett, UMass Lowell (Jr., Woburn, Mass.) - Captured the Championship Division shot put at the Harvard Open. Threw for a distance of 44 feet, 11.0 inches, which currently ranks third on the Division II list.

Northeast-10 Women’s Field Freshman of the Week

Vlada Shelkova, Stonehill (Fr., Newington, Conn.) - Finished fourth in the long jump in the Harvard University Open with a mark of 5.15 meters.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Dan Darcy, Bentley (Jr., Sharon, Mass.) - Finished 2nd of 51 in the 800 meters at the Harvard Open, with a time of 1:56.80.

Sam Bastien, UMass Lowell (So., Canton, Mass.) - Placed third overall and tops among Division II-III sprinters in the 60 meter dash at the Harvard Open. Ran the course in 22.74 seconds.

Sharikka Finley-Moise, UMass Lowell (Jr., Lexington, Mass.) - Placed third overall, tops among Division II-III, sprinters in the 60 meter dash at the Harvard Open. Posted a time of 8.02 seconds.

Cory Murray, UMass Lowell (So., Methuen, Mass.) - Placed fourth overall (first among Division II-III throwers) in the shot put at the Harvard Open with a throw of 49' 1.75''.

Joe D'Agostino, Stonehill (Jr., Canton, Mass.) - Finished third in the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters at the Harvard University Open.

Dan Pilz, Stonehill (So., Newington, Conn.) - Finished sixth in the 3000 meters at the Harvard University Open.

Lindsey Pinkham, Stonehill (So., Skowhegan, Maine) - In her first race of the season, finished ninth in 800 with a time of 2:23.03.

Weekly Notes:

BENTLEY: Senior Melissa Nash, after an outstanding cross country season, made her 2008-09 indoor debut in style, by winning the 5,000 meters at the Harvard Open and provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships in the process. Her winning time was 17:49.52.
