Northeast-10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Hafiz Greigre, Bryant (Jr., Attleboro, MA) - At the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival, placed second in the 55-meter dash in a time of 6.48 seconds, just shy of his school record of 6.47 seconds. Also had a first-place finish in the 200 meters in 22.24 seconds.
Northeast-10 Co-Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Natasha Stevenson, Bryant (So., Haverhill, MA) - Set a Bryant school record with a third place finish in the women's 200 meter dash at Northeastern's New Balance Winter Carnival over the weekend. Finished in a time of 26.26 seconds.
Mallory Gattison, Southern Connecticut (Jr., West Haven, CT) - Won the 55-meter dash in 7.32 seconds and was a member of the Owls' winning 4x400-meter relay team, which had
a time of 4:08.14, at the Colleiate Track Conference championships.
Northeast-10 Men's Track Freshman of the Week
Doug Caves, UMass Lowell (Fr., Oxford, MA) - Won the 500 meters in his first collegiate meet, the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival, posting a time of 1:04.37.
Northeast-10 Women's Track Freshman of the Week
Melissa Nash, Bentley (Fr. , Marshfield, MA) - Placed fourth in the 3000 at Northeastern's New Balance Winter Carnival, with her time of 10:42.10 good for eighth on Bentley's all-time list in the event.
Northeast-10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Ivan Schmidt, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Bridgeport, CT) - At the Yale Lidlifter Invitational at Coxe Cage, won the high jump with a mark of six feet, 11 inches, which also surpasses the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II championships.
Northeast-10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Thatcha DaCosta, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Englewood, NJ) - At the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) indoor championships, was a double winner, placing first in the long jump (18 feet, one inch) and in the triple jump (38 feet, four inches). Both distances are provisional qualifying standards for the NCAA Division II indoor track and field championships.
There were no nominations for Men or Women Field Freshman of the Week.

MEN:
Stephan Ramirez, Bentley (So., San Antonio, Texas) - At the New Balance Winter Carnival, finished second in the 3,000 with a time of 8:35.48, good for seventh on Bentley's all-time list.
Dallas Lynch, Bryant (Jr. , Wayne, NJ) - Placed fourth in the men's long jump at the New Balance Winter Carnival with a mark of 21 feet, 6.75 inches and later took second in the triple jump, clearing 45-10.75.
Doug Caves, UMass Lowell (Fr., Oxford, MA) - Won the 500 meters in his first collegiate meet, the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival, posting a time of 1:04.37.
Erick Colon, UMass Lowell (Jr., Methuen, MA) - Captured the 800 meters at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival. Covered the course in 1:57.18.
Steve Plouffe, UMass Lowell (Jr., Methuen, MA) - Placed second overall (first among collegiate runners) and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 5,000 meters at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival. Covered the course in 14:46.24.
Roman Henry, Southern Connecticut (So., Brooklyn, NY) - At the Yale Lidlifter Invitational, finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.14 seconds.
Terry Young, UMass Lowell (So., Mansfield, MA) - Placed third overall and tops among Division II-III entries in the long jump with a distance of 21' 10.75''. Also ran a leg on UMass Lowell's 4X400 mete relay team, which won the title in 3:21.14.
Robert Keizer, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Great Neck, NY) - At the Yale Lidlifter Invitational, placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet, eight inches to reach the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Division II Indoor track and field championships.
Tom Murray, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Garrison, NY) - The junior won the pole vault competition with a leap of 14 feet, three inches Saturday at the Yale Lidlifter Invitational. Tipped teammate Keith Gunther, taking first place in a jump-off.
Jim Sizemore, Southern Connecticut ( So. , Naugatuck, CT ) - Registered a time of 1:58.77 to place second in the 800-meter run at the Yale Lidlifter Invitational.
Vinnie Williams, Stonehill (Jr., Springfield, MA) Posted a pair of fifth place finishes at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival. Placed fifth in both the 55 meters (6.61) and 200 meters (22.86).
Torrey Price, Stonehill (Fr., Sleepy Hollow, NY) - Placed fourth in 55 meters (6.60 seconds) in his first collegiate competition at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival.
WOMEN:
Caitlyn Clark, Assumption (Sr., Worcester, MA) - Was the top Northeast-10 finisher in the women's 5000m race at the Northeastern Husky Carnival, finishing in ninth place (18:36.37).
Samantha Robbins, Bentley (So., Franklin, MA) - At Northeastern's New Balance Winter Carnival, finished fifth in the mile with a time of 5:23.61. Was also 17th overall, and sixth amongst NE-10 runners, in the 800, with a time of 2:33.45.
Jessica Cegarra, Bryant (Jr., Danville, NH) - Placed third in the women's shot put at Northeastern's Holiday Winter Carnival Saturday, finishing with a mark of 40 feet, six inches, just shy of her school record of 41-10.75.
Enjoli Edwards, UMass Lowell (Sr., Philadelphia, PA) - Placed second overall and first among non-Division I throwers in the shot put with a toss of 43' 1.0''.
Esia Johnson, UMass Lowell (Sr., Lawrence, MA) - Placed second in three events - first among Division II-III entries in both - at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival. Finished second in the long jump with a distance of 18' 0.50'' and second in the triple jump with a distance of 37' 7.25''. Also ran a leg on UML's 4X400 meter relay team which placed fifth overall and tops among non-Division I teams with a time of 4:10.64.
Sasha Mathelier, Pace (So., Uniondale, NY) - Was a double-winner at the Collegiate Track Conference championships on Sunday, placing first in the pole vault (10 feet) and the 55-meter hurdles (8.62 seconds).
Stacey Egbert, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Danbury, CT) - Won the triple jump, passing the NCAA Division II championships provisional qualifying standard with a leap of 39 feet, 10 and three-quarters inches Saturday at the Yale Lidlifter Invitational. Came back on Sunday at the Collegiate Track Conference championships to place second in the long jump (18 feet, one-half inch), which also passed the NCAA Division II provisional standard.
Kasey Black, Stonehill (Fr., Hanson, MA) - Placed sixth in the 3,000 meters at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival, posting a time of 10:53.52 during first collegiate competition.

BENTLEY: At the New Balance Winter Carnival at Northeastern, two Bentley athletes earned positions on the school's top ten list. Freshman Melissa Nash (Marshfield, Mass.), in her first collegiate race, went to number eight in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:42.10. Sophomore Stephan Ramirez (San Antonio, Texas) posted a time of 8:35.48 in the 3,000, good for seventh place on Bentley's top ten list BRYANT: The Bryant men's and women's indoor track teams kicked off the 2005-06 season competing at the New Balance Winter Carnival at Northeastern's Reggie Lewis Center Saturday. The Bulldogs set three new school records and equaled another in the non-scoring meet. Junior Joe Brennan (Cranston, RI) shattered Pat Rafferty's five year old record in the 400 meters with a ninth-place finish in 51.11 seconds. The previous school best was 51.70 set by Rafferty in 2000. Jerry Laguerre (Punta Gordo, Fla.) tied the school record in the high jump, clearing six feet, two inches. Hafiz Greigre (Attleboro, Mass.) turned in a pair of dazzling performances in just the first meet of the season. Greigre turned in the top time in the prelims of the 55 meter dash in 6.56 seconds and placed second in the finals in a time of 6.48 seconds, just shy of his school record of 6.47 seconds set last year. Greigre would conclude the day with a first-place finish in the 200 meters in 22.24 seconds, well ahead of second-place finisher James Myles of New Hampshire (22.47). On the women's side, two records fell as sophomore Natasha Stevenson (Haverhill, Mass.) set a new record with a third-place finish in the women's 200 meter dash in 26.26 seconds while Jennifer Goodwin (Yarmouthport, Mass.) set a new record in the 1,000 meters with a 13th-place finish in 3:14.90 STONEHILL: The Skyhawk men's 4 X 400 relay team of junior Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.), sophomore Thomas Woods (Medfield, Mass.), junior Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) and senior Paul Viggiano (Trumbull, Conn.) set a school record in the event at the Northeastern New Balance Winter Carnival, posting a time of 3:25.70 that was good for fourth place in the event. Stonehill will serve as the host institution for the 2006 NCAA Division II Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 10-11 at the Reggie Lewis Center.
