Saint Rose's Brink Named AVCA National Player of the Week

ALBANY ? Stephanie Brink (Port Ewen, NY/Kingston), a sophomore outside hitter on The College of Saint Rose women?s volleyball team, has been named the Northeast-10 Conference and Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, September 18.

Brink averaged 4.50 kills and 1.10 blocks while recording a .540 hitting percentage (45-5-74) throughout a 3-0 week for the Golden Knights.

She recorded a .579 attack percentage behind 12 kills (12-1-19) to go with five blocks in a sweep of Saint Michael?s, had 16 kills and hit .583 (16-2-24) to go with four blocks in a 3-0 victory versus Molloy and registered 17 kills with a .484 attack percentage (17-2-31) in a 3-1 victory at C.W. Post.

A second-team All-Conference pick a year ago as a freshman, Brink leads the NE-10 with a staggering .415 attack percentage (127-24-248) and is second in the league with 4.38 kills per-game. She also owns a 1.03 block average, the conference?s eighth best mark.

Saint Rose is off to the best start ever in the program?s 27-year history of intercollegiate competition. The Golden Knights are 8-1 overall, 2-0 and in second place in the 15-team Northeast-10 Conference, and have dropped only seven games throughout nine matches thus far. Furthermore, only two of their contests have been at home.
