Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Julie Handy, UMass Lowell (Sr., OH, Yorba Linda, CA) - Posted averages of 4.91 kills, 3.36 digs and 1.09 aces per game as UMass Lowell went 2-1 at the New Haven Baden Invitational. Opened with 19 kills, 21 digs and two aces while hitting .368 in a 3-1 win over Millersville. Followed with 13 kills, six digs and five aces while hitting .308 in a 3-0 sweep over Wilmington. Capped the Invitational with 22 kills, 10 digs and five aces in a 3-1 loss to the Chargers. Named to the All-Tournament Team.
Northeast-10 Setter of the Week
Julie McLaud, Le Moyne (Jr., S, Pine Bush, NY) - Named the MVP at
the Philadelphia Sciences Tournament. Averaged 1.56 kills, 13.86 assists and 1.44 digs per game in a 3-0 week. Dished out 42 assists in a three-game win over AIC and 45 in a victory over USP.
Northeast-10 Libero of the Week
Katie Markstein, Bentley (Sr., L, La Jolla, CA) - In a 3-0 week, averaged 5.7 kills and 0.9 aces. Had 27 digs against Florida Tech and 15 against both Concordia and Queens. Served four aces in the Queens match, and three vs. Concordia.
Northeast-10 Freshmen of the Week
Maureen Atkins, Bryant (Fr., DS, Fenton, MO) - Led Bryant with 82 defensive digs and 10 service aces in four matches at the Florida
Southern tournament. Had 34 digs plus seven service aces against Eckerd and followed with 26 digs against Rollins.
Becca Rector, Bentley (Fr., RS, Greenwood Village, CO) - Averaged a team-best 3.50 kills while hitting .384. Also contributed 1.4 digs and 0.5 blocks a game. Hit .424 with 15 kills and only one error in a 3-1 win over Florida Tech, and .409 (11-2-22) vs. Concordia. Had seven digs against Concordia and three blocks vs. Florida Tech.
Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll:
Zane Berzina, American International (Jr., OH, Talsi, Latvia) - Totaled 47 kills and a .286 hitting percentage in three matches over the weekend. Totaled 25 kills and hit at a .316 clip in a loss to Philadelphia.
Kristen Johnson, Bentley (Sr., S, Greenville, SC) - Averaged 9.0 assists, 2.0 digs and 1.1 kills in three wins in the C.W. Post Tournament. Had 36 assists, eight digs, five kills and a .625 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win over Florida Tech.
Christina Sadowski , Bentley (So., MH, Salem, N.H.) - Helped Bentley to a 3-0 start by averaging 3.3 kills, 1.3 blocks, 0.8 digs and 0.6 aces with a .387 hitting percentage. Named to All-Tournament Team at C.W. Post Invitational. Had 14 kills and three aces vs. both Florida Tech and Concordia, and six blocks vs. defending regional champ Queens
Tiffany Garry, Bryant (So., S, Frankfort, IL) - Garry averaged 11.0 assists per game in four matches. Had 61 assists in the team's 3-2 loss to Rollins College and had 30 in a loss to No. 15 Florida Southern.
Michelle Muniz, Bryant (Sr., OH, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) - Had 53 kills and 73 digs in four matches. Averaged 3.53 kills per game and had six service aces. Had 18 kills and 26 digs against Rollins College.
Nicole Buchholz, Franklin Pierce (Fr., MH, Ashburn, VA) - Averaged 2.83 kills and 0.92 blocks per game in four matches. Also hit a team-best .215 for the weekend. In the game versus Mount Olive College, tallied 10 kills. In the game versus Eckerd College, contributed eight kills, four digs, and one ace in her first collegiate match.
Karissa Hookstadt, Franklin Pierce (Fr., S, Camrillo, CA) - Led the team with 56 assists in nine games played, averaging 6.22 assists per game. She also recorded 16 digs (1.78/g), four kills (.44/g), and two service aces. In the game vs. Rollins College, Hookstadt totaled 17 assists and four digs.
Lindsey Fattey, Le Moyne (Sr., OH, Lancaster, NY) - Named to the all-tournament team at the University of Sciences Philadelphia Tournament. Averaged four kills and 2.2 digs per game in a 3-0 week. She had double-digit kill totals in every match, highlighted by a 14-kill effort in a 3-0 win over AIC.
Amanda McClure, Le Moyne (Sr., L, Painted Post, NY) - In a 3-0 week, averaged a team high 6.1 digs per game as Le Moyne swept to the University of Sciences Philadelphia Tournament championship. Had a game-high 26 digs in a 3-0 sweep of American International.
Jodi Smith, Le Moyne (Fr., OH, Angola, N.Y.) - In a 3-0 week, averaged 3.67 kills and 3.11 digs. Had 12 kills in three-game wins over American International and Philadelphia.
Caitlin Harte, UMass Lowell (Jr., S, East Rochester, NH) - Three matches: Dished out an average of 12.64 assists per game in leading UMass Lowell to a 2-1 clip at the New Haven Baden Invitational. Dished out a weekend high 54 assists along with nine digs in a 3-1 win over Millersville; followed with 34 in a 3-0 victory over Wilmington; Handed out 51 along with seven digs in a 3-1 setback to New Haven.
Kathleen McCarthy, Saint Anselm (Jr., S, Quincy, MA) - Led the team with 2.33 kills, nine assists, .67 aces, two digs, and .67 blocks in a 3-0 loss to Merrimack.
Jessica Carrington, Saint Rose (Jr., OH, New Freedom, PA) - Had 10 kills and a .500 attack percentage to go with eight digs and three aces in a 3-0 win versus Nyack.
Michaela Jorgensen, Saint Rose (Jr., OH, Candor, NY) - Finished with seven kills and a .357 attack percentage to go with nine aces, four digs and three blocks in a 3-0 win versus Nyack.
Allie Isaacs, Southern Connecticut (Fr., S, Branford, CT) - Averaged 7.73 assists, had three service aces and 13 digs in 11 games.
Sara Thompson, Stonehill (Jr., MH, Millis, MA) - Recorded 28 kills and 14 total blocks in 1-2 week, including 12 kills and five total blocks in 3-0 victory over Post (Conn.). Posted .480 attack percentage on week.

Bentley Bentley was one of two undefeated teams in the C.W. Bryant The Bulldogs dropped all four matches with two coming against Top-20 teams in North Alabama and Florida Southern. Tiffany Garry had 61 assists vs. Rollins College, just three shy of a personal best. Bryant also opened the 2002 season 0-4, reaching the NE-10 semifinals and NCAA regional final later that year.
