Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Likica Grceva, Bryant (Sr., OH, Natick, Mass.) - Averaged 4.0 kills
and 4.17 digs per game in five matches. Had 19 kills and 26 digs in
a win over Tiffin and had 16 kills against Shippensburg. Recorded
11 kills and three aces in the win over UMass Lowell. Was named to
the East Stroudsburg All-Tournament team.
Northeast-10 Setter of the Week
Tiffany Garry, Bryant (Sr., S, Frankfort, Ill.) - Averaged 11.78
assists per game in five matches last week. Had 56 assists plus
four kills and three blocks in a win over Tiffin. For the week,
also had 17 service aces (0.94 per game) including five versus
Shippensburg.
Northeast-10 Libero of the Week
Mary German, Saint Rose (So., L, Canandaigua, N.Y.) –
Averaged 7.09 digs per game (78) and also had five service aces
during a 2-1 week. In the 3-0 sweep at Southern Connecticut, came
up with 25 digs and an ace. Registered 33 digs and three aces in a
3-2 come-from-behind triumph at Pace.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Andrea Farah, Bentley (Fr., OH, Miami, Fla.) - In eight games
during a 3-1 week, hit .412 and averaged 4.1 kills, 2.88 digs, 0.5
blocks and 0.5 aces. Had 14 kills and a .393 hitting percentage
against Queens, and had 11 kills, 12 digs and a .381 hitting
percentage against New York Tech. Also had eight kills and five
digs versus Saint Anselm.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Aimee Drainville, Assumption (Fr., MH, Rockville, R.I.) - Averaged
2.92 kills (35) in a 2-1 week. In a tri-match at Stonehill,
combined for 32 kills (3.56 kpg), including 18 kills in a win over
Saint Anselm. Also had 14 kills in a five-set win over
Stonehill.
Jess Haller, Assumption (So., OH, Meriden, Conn.) - Averaged 2.92
kills (35), had seven aces, and 30 digs in a 2-1 week. Recorded
five service aces at Merrimack. In a tri-match at Stonehill,
combined for 31 kills (3.44 kpg) and 27 digs. Had 17 kills in a win
over Saint Anselm and 14 kills in a five-set win over
Stonehill.
Marilisa Strand, Assumption (Fr., S, Sarasota, Fla.) - Averaged
9.75 assists (117) and 1.67 kills (20) in a 2-1 week. Had 19
assists versus Merrimack. In a tri-match at Stonehill, combined for
16 kills, including 10 versus Stonehill, and 98 assists (10.89 per
game). Registered 45 assists versus Saint Anselm and 53 assists
versus Stonehill.
Carey Demos, Bentley (Sr., MH, Bakersfield, Calif.) - During a 3-1
week, averaged 1.92 kills, 0.92 blocks and 0.33 aces while hitting
.286. Highs included nine kills versus Dowling, four blocks against
New York Tech and two aces twice. Was named to the Northeast-10/ECC
Challenge All-Tournament Team.
Tori Piskulick, Bentley (Jr., S, San Diego, Calif.) - Averaged 10.7
assists and 3.2 digs during a 3-1 week, became the fourth player in
school history to eclipse 3,000 career assists, and was named to
the All-Tournament Team at the Northeast-10/ECC Challenge. Had 55
assists and 18 digs in a four-game loss to Dowling.
Megan Feldmeth, Franklin Pierce (So., MH, South Pasadena, Calif.) -
Averaged 3.91 kills per game on a .319 hitting percentage and added
nine blocks in a 3-1 week. Posted 15 kills against Queens, and had
19 kills against New York Tech. Had nine kills against Dowling to
earn a spot on the NE-10/ECC Challenge All-Tournament team.
Karissa Hookstadt, Franklin Pierce (Jr., S, Camarillo, Calif.) -
Averaged 9.69 assists, 2.38 digs, 1.25 kills and 0.69 blocks per
game in a 3-1 week. Recorded eight kills with 41 assists and 10
digs against Southern New Hampshire and then had 51 assists in a
win over Queens. Also recorded 19 digs to accompany 45 assists in
the win over New York Tech.
Chelsie Kohout, Franklin Pierce (Fr., L, Harrison Township, Mich.)
- Recorded 68 digs (6.18 per game) in a 3-1 week. Recorded 22 digs,
four assists and a kill against Queens, then recorded 41 digs with
two assists against New York Tech. Was also named to the NE-10/ECC
Challenge All-Tournament team.
Kaylin Brainerd, Le Moyne (So., S, Liverpool, N.Y.) - Dished out
132 assists (10.15 pg) for the week and connected for three aces
and 25 digs.
Jillian Hadder, UMass Lowell (Fr., OH, Yucaipa, Calif.) - Compiled
averages of 4.11 kills and 3.42 digs in a 1-2 week. Opened the week
with six kills and two digs in two games in a 0-3 loss at Bryant.
Followed with 17 kills, eight digs, two blocks and two aces while
hitting .351 (17-4-37) in a 3-0 sweep over Saint Michael's. Capped
the week with 14 kills, 14 digs and two blocks in a 1-3 loss to
Adelphi.
Korena Johnson, Pace (Jr., MH, Friendswood, Texas) - Had 2.73
kills, while also totaling five service aces and 1.73 digs per game
in a 2-1 week. Recorded 14 kills in a win over Queens. Posted 19
kills, along with eight digs and a pair of solo blocks against
Saint Rose. Tallied eight kills, four aces and 17 digs in a win
over Le Moyne.
Victoria Pompilus, Pace (Fr., MH, Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) - Averaged 1.47
kills and 0.93 blocks in a 2-1 week. Recorded six total blocks
along with eight kills in a win over Queens. Posted five total
blocks, while adding three kills against Saint Rose. Tallied 11
kills and three total blocks in a win over Le Moyne.
Jaclyn Griffin, Saint Rose (So., RS, Glen Mills, Pa) - Recorded
2.45 kills and 0.82 blocks (9) per game, while hitting .318 during
a 2-1 week. In a 3-0 sweep at Southern Connecticut, registered nine
kills, two blocks and two assists while hitting .375 for the match.
In the 3-2 victory at Pace, recorded 11 kills and a pair of blocks
to go with a .391 hitting percentage.
Sally Munter, Saint Rose (Sr., MH, Chesapeake, Va.) –
Averaged 2.30 kills and 1.70 blocks (17) per game, while hitting
.268 during a 2-1 week. In a 3-0 setback at Bridgeport, recorded
eight kills, six blocks and hit .278 for the match. In the 3-0
sweep at Southern Connecticut, registered nine kills and five
blocks all while hitting .238. Then hit .294 with six kills and six
blocks in a 3-2 victory at Pace.
Lauren Coombs, Southern Connecticut (Jr., RS, Trumbull, Conn.)
– Against Mercy, recorded 14 digs to go with 11 kills and
versus Le Moyne, notched 10 digs and 10 kills.
Andrea Wirth, Stonehill (Fr., S, Mesa, Ariz.) - Posted 40 assists
in the win over American International, 45 in the win over Saint
Anselm and then 49 in a 3-2 loss to Assumption.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Senior Christina Sadowski (Salem, N.H.) moved
into fourth on Bentley's career kill list with 1,131, and needs
just 16 more to take over third place. With 435 career blocks,
she's also only five away from moving into third in that category.
Junior Tori Piskulick became the fourth player in Bentley history
with 3,000 career assists.
BRYANT: Tiffany Garry set the school's all-time
career service ace record in the first game of Bryant's match with
Shippensburg on Friday. Garry passes former standout Marcie
Monaco's record of 326 and enters the week with 336 in her
career.
