Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port, England) - Averaged 23.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.3 blocked shots as the Ravens posted a 3-1 record over the last two weeks. Made 26-for-43 of her shots from the field and converted 12-of-14 of her free-throws in the three games. Scored a game-high 27 points (20 first half) in 23 minutes in the win over #15 Shippensburg. Netted a game-high 26 points in win over Wilmington.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Alex Fiola, Southern Connecticut (Fr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - Finished with a career-high 29 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor, 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line and 7-of-7 from the charity stripe in the victory over Assumption. Scored 12 points on 4-of-6 from behind the arc in the loss to Holy Family

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kayla Parker, Assumption (Jr., F, Sanford, Maine) - Averaged 16 points per game in two games this past week. In a game against Adelphi scored 22 points including 10-of-12 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free throw line, while grabbing four rebounds. In a game against Southern Connecticut scored ten points and had four rebounds as well as adding three assists and two blocked shots.

Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - In a 2-1 week, averaged 17.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals. Shot 50 percent from the field and made 12 of 16 free throws. Posted double-doubles against Bridgeport (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Dowling (15 points, 12 rebounds), and had 15 points against nationally-ranked Stonehill.

Vanessa Power, Franklin Pierce (Sr., G, Mildura, Australia) - Averaged 11 points and 2.3 rebounds off the bench as the Ravens went 3-1 over the last two weeks. Made 11-of-18 (61.1%) three-pointers over the four games as part of an overall 58.3% (14-24) shooting effort from the field, also making 5-of-6 (83.3%) free-throw attempts. Netted a season-high 27 points (one shy of her career-best), aided by 6-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc, against Grand Canyon.

Courtney Coryea, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Mooers Forks, N.Y.) - Averaged 18.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in a 2-1 week. Scored 16 points in a 59-56 victory over Texas Woman's at the San Diego Surf N' Slam Classic. Tallied 14 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 69-66 double-overtime loss to Molloy at the Surf N' Slam Classic. Registered a career-high 26 points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked three shots in a 54-49 home victory over Southern New Hampshire.

Alysia Saunders, New Haven (Jr., F, Bronx, N.Y.) - Averaged a double-double over a 2-1 span. Put up an average of 12 points and 10 rebounds per contest. In the two-day Pace Holiday Classic, scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against NYIT and followed up with a 13 point and 10 rebound performance against Caldwell the following day.

Jen Valente, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Prospect, Conn.) - Posted averages of 13.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in a 1-2 week. Named to the All-Tournament Team at the San Diego Surf N’ Slam Classic, opening with 14 points and six rebounds while shooting .583 from the field (7-12) in a 57-54 loss to Wisconsin-Parkside. Followed with nine points, seven rebounds and two assists in a 70-60 victory over Mercyhurst and capped the week matching her season-high of 17 points (6-12 field goals, 2-4 treys and 3-4 free throws) and four rebounds in a 63-62 loss to Saint Michael's.

Brittany Shields, Pace (Fr., F, Cold Spring, N.Y.) - Averaged a double-double with 14.3 points and 12.7 rebounds in a 3-0 week. Shot 48-percent (12-for-25) from the field and 79.2-percent (19-for-24) from the free throw line, while also averaging 4.3 steals and two blocks in three games. Totaled 11 points and 16 rebounds along with three steals in a win over Caldwell. Posted 16 points, 12 boards, six steals, while shooting 8-for-10 from the charity stripe in a win over New York Tech. Netted 16 points, 10 rebounds, along with four assists, four blocks, and four steals, while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, earning a conference victory over New Haven.

Courtney May, Saint Anselm (Jr., F, Lakeville, Mass.) - In the team's lone game of the week, posted a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double in the 61-46 win over Bridgeport. Was 7-for-8 from the field, and had two assists, two blocks and three steals.

Michelle Otey, Saint Michael's (Jr., F, Southborough, Mass.) - In a 2-1 week, averaged 11.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Ashley Anderson, Saint Rose (Sr., F, Portland, Maine) - Registered a double-double in a 60-44 win versus American International. Wound up with 16 points and 15 rebounds in the game to go with two assists and two steals. Hit 7-of-12 shots from the floor and was 2-for-3 from the stripe as well.

Lexi Allen, Southern Connecticut (Sr., F, Southbury, Conn.) - Totaled 14 points against Assumption, including a game-winning jump shot with 1.2 seconds remaining in the game. Finished 6-of-13 from the floor, 2-of-5 from behind the three-point line and tallied five steals in the victory.

Stephanie Houghton, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., G, Manchester, N.H.) - Averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in a 2-1 week. Went 4-of-6 from three-point land and totaled 17 points and six rebounds in a win over Bridgeport.

Kristen McWhirter, Stonehill (So., G, Melvin Village, N.H.) - Averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three victories during the holiday break. Had 17 points, five rebounds, five assists in a win at Adelphi, then had a career-high 19 points, six rebounds and five assists in a win over Dominican. Wrapped up the stretch with four three pointers and 14 points and three steals in a win over Bentley.

Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (Jr., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Averaged 15.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 2.3 assists on 49 percent shooting in a 3-0 stretch. Had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Adelphi, 20 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Dominican then had 11 points and eight rebounds in a comeback win over Bentley. Scored her 1,000th point in win over Dominican and had seven points and seven rebounds in the key second half in the win over Bentley.

Bethany Tighe, Stonehill (Sr., F, North Easton, Mass.) - Averaged 12.7 points and 10 rebounds in a 3-0 stretch. Had back-to-back double doubles, including a 10 -point, 12-rebound effort in win over Adelphi. Then had 16 points and 10 rebounds on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting in win over Dominican. Had 12 points and eight rebounds in win over Bentley. Shot 58 percent from the floor (15-for-26) and made two of three triples as well as all of her free throw attempts (6-for-6).

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Head Coach Mark Swasey picked up his 100th victory at Franklin Pierce with the Ravens 76-44 win over Merrimack just before Christmas. Swasey is now 102-83 (.551) over his seven seasons at the University, posting an overall coaching record of 158-109 (.592) in ten years. Junior All-American Johannah Leedham became just the third player in program history to reach the 1,500 career point mark over the holidays. Her 1,544 career points are 74 shy of Juanita Brown (1,618) for second all-time in program history. Senior Jennifer Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) became just the fourth player in program history to collect 200 career steals with her two thefts against Wilmington on Sunday. Her 201 career steals are 40 behind younger sister, Johannah Leedham's career record total of 241.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE: Senior Stephanie Houghton moved into third place on SNHU's career three-point list Saturday. Her two threes against Le Moyne gives her 122 for her career.
