Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port, England) - Posted three 30-plus point outings in a 3-0 week, including 33.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game. Scored a season-high 37 points on 12-for-24 shooting from the field (5-10 three's) while converting 8-of-9 free-throws in win over Pace, adding seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. Opened the week with 30 points, hitting 6-of-9 three-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists (one turnover) and three steals in win at Saint Michael's. Closed the week out with 33 points on 14-of-17 shooting from the field (3-5 three's) in win over Southern Connecticut, adding nine rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocked shots.

Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Megan Howard, Saint Anselm (Fr., F, St. Paul, Minn.) - Averaged 19 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, along with one assists and 1.3 steals per contest. Highlighted the week with a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double at Southern New Hampshire and a 20-point, 17-rebound double-double against No. 4 ranked Stonehill. Also shot 48 percent from the field.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Stacy Boisvert, American International (Sr., F, Agawam, Mass.) - Averaged 16.3 points and five rebounds per game in a 2-1 week. Scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win at Southern Connecticut and netted 20 points with five boards at Assumption. Closed the week by scoring eight points in a win over New Haven.

Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Sr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - In a 1-1 week averaged 13.5 and two rebounds per game. In a game against Pace scored 10 points had three steals and two rebounds and one assist. In a win over American International had 17 points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Kelly Barrett, Bentley (Jr., C, Middle Village, N.Y.) - Shot 68 percent from the field while averaging 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds during a 3-0 week. Had a career-best 20 points (7-10 fg) and eight rebounds at Merrimack, 14 points and 11 boards versus Saint Anselm, and 10 points against Saint Michael’s.

Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - In three wins, filled the stat sheet with 16.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals a game. Shot 53 percent overall and 86 percent from the line. Recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds and four steals versus Saint Michael’s, 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists at Merrimack, and 15 points and five assists against Saint Anselm.

Jen Valente, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Prospect, Conn.) - Posted averages of 18 points and four rebounds while shooting .649 from the field (24-37) and .500 from 3-point range (4-8). Opened the week with 14 points (7-12 FGs) in a 62-57 win over Le Moyne. Followed with a career-high 22 points (9-14 FGs, 4-5 treys) and five rebounds in an 84-79 loss at Saint Rose; and 19 points (8-11 FGs) and five rebounds in a 68-54 loss at Pace.

Amanda Shannon, Merrimack (Sr., G, North Andover, Mass.) - Averaged 15 points, four rebounds and three assists in three games.

Lauren Hood, New Haven (Sr., F, Ashland, Mass.) - Averaged 22.7 points per game while shooting 64.3 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range in a 2-1 week. Scored a game-high 27 points against American International. Had 23 points and six rebounds in the victory over Saint Rose.

Alysia Saunders, New Haven (Jr., F, Bronx, N.Y.) - Averaged a double-double, 14 points and 11.5 rebounds, in two games this past week . Had 12 points, 13 rebounds and one steal against Saint Rose. Tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one block in victory over Dominican.

Brittany Shields, Pace (Fr., F, Cold Spring, N.Y.) – Averaged 11.7 points and six rebounds, while shooting 58.3-percent from the field in a 2-1 week. Totaled nine rebounds along with six points in a win over Assumption. Recorded 16 points and two boards against Franklin Pierce. Tallied 13 points and seven rebounds in a win over UMass Lowell.

Justine Lyons, Saint Anselm (Sr., G, Reading, Mass.) - Averaged 13.3 points, one rebound, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game, while also knocking down six three-pointers for the week. Had a season-high 22 points at Southern New Hampshire and 18 points at No. 4 Stonehill.

Alexis Keller, Saint Michael's (Jr., G, Harrington Park, N.J.) - In a 1-2 week, averaged 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. In a 62-49 win over Merrimack, netted a game-high 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Dana Brown, Saint Rose (Sr., G , Elmont, N.Y.) - Averaged 19.7 points and 2.3 rebounds during a 1-2 week. Hit 9-of-17 shots from beyond the arc and was 16-for-22 from the stripe as well. Finished with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists in a 65-63 loss at New Haven. Tossed in a season-high 25 points in an 84-79 win versus UMass Lowell. Contributed 13 points and a pair of boards in a 64-57 setback at Southern New Hampshire.

Lauren Revesz, Saint Rose (Sr., C, Pittsburgh, Pa.) -Averaged 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in a 1-2 week. Shot 47.6 percent (20-for-42) from the floor and 87.5 percent (14-for-16) from the stripe throughout the three contests. Wound up with 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists in a 65-63 setback at New Haven. Poured in a career-high 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go with five boards in an 84-79 win versus UMass Lowell. Had 16 points, seven rebounds and two dimes in a 64-57 loss at Southern New Hampshire.

Ashara Carrington, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., F, Marblehead, Mass.) - Shot 65.2 percent from the floor and averaged 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week. Totaled 15 points and eight rebounds in a win over Saint Anselm, then registered 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting against Saint Rose.

Emily Rousseau, Stonehill (So., G, Biddeford, Maine) - Averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists in a 2-1 week. In a win over Molloy, had 21 points, five assists and four rebounds. Then in a win over Saint Anselm, dropped in six three-pointers en route to 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. Then had a team-best 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in a loss at LeMoyne. For the week, shot 51 percent from the field, including 47 percent from behind the arc.

Weekly Notes:

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: Broke a pair of school records after defeating Southern Connecticut State University, 76-31, Tuesday night at Moore Fieldhouse. The Yellow Jackets 31 points allowed were the fewest ever in a conference game and the 45-point margin of victory is the largest-ever spread against a conference foe. The previous record for margin of victory against a conference opponent was 40, set when the Yellow Jackets defeated Quinnipiac, 86-46, January 22, 1996. The previous mark for fewest points allowed in a conference game was 33, which was achieved in a 52-33 win at Saint Anselm February 8, 2005.

FRANKLIN PIERCE: Junior All-American Johannah Leedham posted three 30-plus scoring outings last week, giving her 20 over her three year career at Franklin Pierce. She moved into second place on Franklin Pierce's career scoring list with her 33 points against Southern Connecticut State with 1,644 points, passing Juanita Brown, who scored 1,618 points from 1995-99. Leedham now trails only Shelia Lindsay, who netted 2,564 points from 1984-88.

SAINT ROSE:
When the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its winners for the 2009 Superlative awards, eighth-year head coach Karen Haag received the Most Inspirational award among NCAA Division II mentors. Following Thursday's 84-79 win versus UMass Lowell, Haag recorded her 100th career victory at Saint Rose.

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE:
Senior Stephanie Houghton (Manchester, N.H.) moved into 10th place on SNHU's career assist list Saturday, as she now has 247 for her career.
