Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Emily Rousseau, Stonehill (So., G, Biddeford, Maine) – Had a
pair of 20-plus point performances. In a win at Pace, had a
game-high 22 points, to go along with four assists, four steals and
three rebounds. Then in a win over Merrimack, dropped in a
career-high 27 points while adding five assists and three rebounds.
For the week, averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 assists, three rebounds and
two steals while shooting 71 percent from the field.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Megan Howard , Saint Anselm (Fr., F, St. Paul, Minn.) - Averaged a
double-double again for the week with 12.5 points and 10.5
rebounds, along with 1.5 assists and one steal per contest. Had a
12-point, 13-rebound double-double at Saint Michael's, her 11th
double-double of the season.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Laechia Conley, American International (So., G, Urbandale, Iowa) -
Averaged 13 points, 5.5 rebounds, six assists and two steals per
game in a 2-0 week. Scored 16 points with seven assists, four
rebounds and three steals in a win over Southern New Hampshire and
netted 10 points with seven boards and five assists in a win over
Saint Anselm.
Stacy Boisvert, American International (Sr., F, Agawam, Mass.) -
Averaged 19 points and seven rebounds per game in a 2-0 week.
Scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Southern New
Hampshire and netted 22 points with four rebounds in a win over
Saint Anselm. Shot 50 percent (6-12) from the field and was
10-of-10 from the free throw line against the Hawks.
Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Sr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - In an 0-2
week, averaged 12 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. In a game
against Franklin Pierce scored 14 points, had six rebounds, two
assists, one blocked shot and one steal. In a game against LeMoyne
scored 10 points had three rebounds and three steals.
Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - In a 68-55
win over Southern Connecticut, scored 19 points, all in the second
half, and tied career-bests in both rebounds (12) and steals (6).
Was four-of-eight from the field and was 11-11 at the free throw
stripe, coming within one of the Bentley single game record.
Jennifer Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Sr., G, Ellesmere Port, England)
- Averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and three steals
in a 2-0 week. Shot 43.3-percent (13-for-30) from the field for the
week. Posted 19 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals
in key win over Assumption. Collected 18 points, five assists, four
steals, three rebounds and a blocked shot in comeback win at UMass
Lowell.
Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port, England)
- Averaged 23 points, seven rebounds, five steals and 1.5 assists
in a 2-0 week. Shot 46.9-percent (15-for-32) from the field,
including 6-of-15 (40%) from three-point range, and converted
10-of-12 (83.3%) free-throw attempts over the two wins. Posted a
double-double with game-high totals of 25 points and ten rebounds
to go with five steals and two assists in the win over Assumption.
Led all scorers with 21 points (7-10 FG, 6-7 FTs) to go with four
rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot in comeback win at UMass
Lowell, grabbing a game-ending steal and fastbreak layup to seal
the four-point victory.
Katie Dunn, Le Moyne (Sr., G, Whippany, N.J.) - Scored a
season-high 20 points, while hitting six three-pointers, in an
80-57 win at Assumption.
Amanda Shannon, Merrimack (Sr., G, North Andover, Mass.) - Averaged
12.3 points, six assists, three steals, and 3.7 boards. Tallied a
career-high eight assists to go with seven boards, five steals and
11 points, narrowly missing a triple-double against Saint Rose.
Briiana Rende, New Haven (Sr., G, Augusta, Maine) - Averaged 16.5
points and four rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. Shot 52.6 percent
(10-of-19) from the field, including 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from
three-point range. Scored 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the
field and 5-of-8 from three-point range against Saint Michael's .
Scored 14 points and hit 3-of-5 three-pointers against
UMass-Lowell.
Brittany Huggins, Pace (So., F , Windsor, Conn.) - Averaged 14.3
points in a three game week. Shot 55-percent from the field, and
33-percent from three-point land in the week. Also added 3.3
rebounds, and one assist in the three games.
Justine Lyons, Saint Anselm (Sr., G, Reading, Mass.) - Averaged
16.5 points, three rebounds and 2.5 assists in a pair of road games
this past week. Posted a game-high 24 points, including 8-of-10 at
the free throw line, in a road loss at American International.
Alexis Keller, Saint Michael's (Jr., G, Harrington Park, N.J.) - In
a 1-1 week, averaged 13 points, three assists, and 2.5 rebounds per
game. In a 55-52 win over Saint Anselm, scored 14 points and added
four assists.
Lauren Revesz, Saint Rose (Sr., C, Pittsburgh, Pa.) - Averaged 22
points and eight rebounds throughout a 2-0 week. Shot 57.1 percent
(16-for-28) from the field and was 11-of-14 from the foul line.
Registered a double-double behind 16 points and 10 rebounds in a
54-52 win at Merrimack. Then scored 23 of her career-high tying 28
points after halftime to rally to beat Southern Connecticut 63-57
in overtime. Scored all eight points for Saint Rose in the extra
session, shooting 11-of-19 in the game and going 5-for-7 from the
stripe.
Jacqueline Johannes, Southern Connecticut (Jr., F, Southbury,
Conn.) - Recorded a team-high 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting and
dragged down nine rebounds against Bentley. Later in the week,
nearly collected a double-double grabbing eight points and 13
rebounds in the overtime loss to Saint Rose.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (Jr., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Averaged
17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Had 18 points and seven
rebounds in a win at Pace then pumped in 16 points and grabbed a
game-high 12 rebounds in a win over Merrimack. Shot 52 percent from
the field (13-for-25) in the two games and made all seven of her
free throw attempts.
Weekly Notes:
STONEHILL: Kelsey Simonds recorded her ninth
double-double of the season in the win over Merrimack, matching her
total from a season ago ... Simonds has made 16 straight free throw
attempts ... Simonds' 39 blocks this season are eighth most in a
single season in school history ... She already owns the 1st spot
(73 in 2007-08) and the fourth (53 in 2005-06) ... Megan Methven
(Corning, N.Y.) now has 177 career three-pointers, 11 shy of
breaking the school's all-time record set by Michelle Doonan from
1991-95.
