Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Kristy McLean, Bentley (Sr., G, Staten Island, N.Y.) - Posted the
two highest scoring games of her career during a 1-1 week, with 25
points in a 66-55 loss to #7 Franklin Pierce and 23 in a 61-45
victory at UMass-Lowell. Filled the stat sheet with 24 points, 7.5
rebounds, three steals and 1.5 assists a game while shooting 55
percent overall (16-29), 75 percent inside the arc, and 92 percent
from the line (12-13). Had 25 points (8-15 FG, 8-8 FT), five
rebounds and two steals against Franklin Pierce, and 23 points
(8-14 FG, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds and 4 steals vs. UMass-Lowell.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Sarah Schicher, Southern Connecticut (Fr., C, Vienna, Austria) -
Recorded 19 points and a career-high in rebounds with 12 in the
82-62 win over C.W. Post.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Molly Griffiths, Assumption (So., F, Walpole, Mass.) - In a 1-1
week averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds. In a win over Saint
Michael's had 12 points and 15 rebounds also had two assists and
one steal. In a game against Le Moyne had 14 points and seven
rebounds with one blocked shot and one steal.
Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Sr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - In a 1-1
week averaged 20.5 points and five rebounds per game. In a win over
Saint Michael's had 18 points four assists, five rebounds, and two
steals. In a game against Le Moyne scored 23 points, grabbed five
rebounds, had three steals and made two assists. In two games made
10 of 11 free throws.
Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port, England)
- Led their first ever win over Bentley with 24 points, six
rebounds, five assists a blocked shot and steal in the team’s
lone contest of the week. Made 7-of-17 shots from the field and
converted all eight free-throw attempts in the win.
Courtney Coryea, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Mooers Forks, N.Y.) - Averaged
19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. Tallied 16
points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 56-52 victory at American
International. Scored 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds,
while dishing out three assists and blocking two shots in a 78-71
home win over #24 Assumption.
Revital Carmon, UMass Lowell (Sr., C, Bat-Yam, Israel) - Registered
averages of 12.5 points, 13 rebounds and two blocked shots in a 1-1
week. Compiled 19 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots while
shooting 9-of-10 from the field in a 75-73 triumph at No. 5
Stonehill. Followed with six points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in
a 61-45 loss to Bentley.
Amanda Shannon, Merrimack (Sr., G, North Andover, Mass.) - Tallied
a game-high 23 points in a 54-52 loss to Southern New Hampshire.
Also recorded three rebounds, two assists, two steals and blocked a
shot.
Lauren Hood, New Haven (Sr., F, Ashland, Mass.) - Averaged 16.5
points and seven rebounds per game in a 2-0 week. Had three steals
in each of the team's two games and shot 44.4 percent from
three-point range (4-for-9) and 84.6 percent from the free throw
line (11-for-13). Had a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds
against Saint Michael’s.
Brittany Huggins, Pace (So., F, Windsor, Conn.) - Averaged 14
points and six boards in a 1-1 week. Scored eight points and
grabbed seven rebounds against Southern Connecticut. Tallied 20
points and five boards on 6-for-13 shooting and 4-for-7 from long
range in a win over Saint Rose.
Taylor Lose, Pace (Jr., F, Bristol, Conn.) - Averaged 20 points and
five rebounds, while shooting 54.2% (13-for-24) from the field.
Connected on 5-of-10 from long range for the week. Scored a
team-high 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting along with four rebounds
against Southern Connecticut. Led the team with 21 points, while
shooting 3-for-5 from downtown in a win over Saint Rose. Also
totaled six rebounds and three steals in the win.
Megan Howard, Saint Anselm (Fr., F, St. Paul, Minn.) - Averaged a
double-double with 11.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, along
with 1.5 steals per game, in two games last week. Highlighted the
week with a 15-point, 19-rebound double-double at New Haven.
Lauren Revesz, Saint Rose (Sr., C, Pittsburgh, Pa.) - Averaged 16.5
points and 8.5 rebounds during a 1-1 week. Shot 46.4 percent
(13-for-28) from the floor and also added three assists and two
steals. Tossed in 26 points and hauled in a career-high 12 rebounds
in an 82-72 setback at Pace. Buried 10-of-17 shots from the field
and went 5-for-7 from the stripe as well. Wound up with seven
points and five boards in a 66-44 triumph at Adelphi.
Logan Lentz, Southern Connecticut (So., G, Chambersburg, Pa.) -
Scored a career-high 29 points against Pace, 21 of which came in
the second half on 11-of-17 shooting, 5-of-7 from behind the arc.
Later in the week, recorded four assists and added 13 points in a
82-62 win over C.W. Post.
Emily Rousseau, Stonehill (So., G, Biddeford, Maine) - Averaged 17
points and four assists in a 1-1 week. Had 15 points and four
assists in the loss to UMass Lowell. Then in a win over Southern
New Hampshire, had a team-high 19 points and four assists while
making 13-of-14 free throw attempts.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (Jr., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Averaged
19.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Recorded a
double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds versus UMass Lowell.
Then in a win over Southern New Hampshire, finished with 15 points
and seven rebounds. For the week shot 48 percent from the floor and
85 percent from the free throw line.
Bethany Tighe, Stonehill (Sr., F, North Easton, Mass.) - Averaged
18.5 points and five rebounds in a 1-1 week. Had a career-high 24
points on 9-of-11 shooting to go along with five rebounds and five
assists in a win over Southern New Hampshire. Also had 13 points
and four rebounds in a loss to UMass-Lowell. For the week shot 66
percent from the floor (12-of-18), 60 percent from three-point land
(3-for-5) and 90 percent from the free throw line (10-for-11).
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Bentley’s win over UMass-Lowell was
the 600th Bentley victory for coach Barbara Stevens. It was also
her 757th overall, elevating the Women’s Basketball Hall of
Famer into a tie for fifth on the all-time NCAA list of winningest
Women’s Basketball coaches.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Junior All-American Johannah
Leedham moved into fourth place on Franklin Pierce's career scoring
list with 1,426 points as she passed Franklin Pierce Hall of Famers
Kari Hunt (1,405pts) and Dina Sawicki (1,415pts) on the career list
with her 24-point outing at Bentley on Tuesday.
SAINT ANSELM: Freshman Megan Howard’s recorded 19
rebounds versus New Haven on Tuesday which ranks her ninth on the
Saint Anselm all-time single-game list for rebounds.
