Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Stacy Boisvert , American International (Sr., F, Agawam, Mass.)
-Averaged 26.5 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 50
percent (19-38) from the field and 78.9 percent (15-19) from the
free throw line this past week. Scored 26 points and grabbed 11
rebounds in win over Pace and netted 27 points with 11 boards
against Merrimack.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Megan Howard, Saint Anselm (Fr., F, Saint Paul, Minn.) - Posted a
pair of double-doubles this past week averaging 19 points and 11.5
rebounds per game. Had a 17-point, 10-rebound, two-block showing
versus UMass Lowell and capped the week with a career-high 24
points and 13 rebounds in a win at Southern Connecticut. Was
7-for-10 from the field against UMass Lowell and 11-for-17 at
Southern Connecticut shooting 66.7 percent from the field for the
week.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Bethany Plasski, Assumption (Sr., G, Fall River, Mass.) - In a 1-1
week averaged 14 points and three rebounds per game. In a win over
Saint Rose scored 17 points had three rebounds, four assists and
two steals. In a game against Stonehill scored 11 points, had three
rebounds, five assists and one steal. Shot a perfect 12-12 at the
free throw line during the week.
Kim Brennan, Bentley (So., G, Locust Valley, N.Y.) - Scored a
career-best 24 points, including 22 in the final 16:10, to spark
Bentley to a comeback win at New Haven, 74-66. Had three rebounds,
an assist and a steal. Made 9-of- 17 field goals, 1-of-3
three-pointers and 5-of -7 free throws.
Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce (Jr., F, Ellesmere Port, England)
- Averaged 22.5 points, four rebounds, 2.5 assists, four blocked
shots and five steals in a 1-1 week. In the win over Southern New
Hampshire tallied 30 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field,
converting 12-of-16 free-throw attempts to go with five rebounds,
two assists, a career-high matching four blocked shots and
season-best eight steals. Posted 15 points, four blocks, three
rebounds, three assists and two steals against Le Moyne.
Courtney Coryea, Le Moyne (Jr., F, Mooers Forks, N.Y.) - Averaged
15 points and 3.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Scored nine points, while
converting 5-of-6 free throws in the final two minutes, in a 51-46
upset victory at #6 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce. Recorded a
team-high 21 points and four rebounds in a 69-65 loss at Pace.
Jen Valente, UMass Lowell (Jr., F, Prospect, Conn.) – Scored
17 points and grabbed four rebounds while converting 8-of-11 shots
from the field in a 67-64 victory over Saint Anselm.
Amanda Shannon, Merrimack (Sr., G, North Andover, Mass.) - Averaged
24.5 points in two games this past week. Tallied buzzer-beating
shots to tie the game in regulation and in the first overtime and
won the game with a layup with five seconds left in the second
overtime against American International.
Lauren Hood, New Haven (Sr., F, Ashland, Mass.) - Averaged 20.5
points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week. Scored 22
points and added four rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal
in a 69-62 win over Southern Connecticut. Shot 48.3 percent from
the field and 86.7 percent from the free throw line.
Brittany Shields, Pace (Fr., F, Cold Spring, N.Y.) - Averaged a
double-double with 19.5 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting
73.7-percent (14-for-19) from the field in a 1-1 week. Shot
9-for-13 from the field, finishing with 22 points and 11 boards
against American International. In a win over Le Moyne, finished
with 17 points (all in the second half), while grabbing nine
rebounds. Shot 5-for-6 from the field and 7-for-10 from the free
throw line in the win.
Brittany Huggins, Pace (So., F, Windsor, Conn.) - Averaged 14.5
points and 2.5 reobunds in a 1-1 week. Led all scorers with 23
points, while chipping in four rebounds in a win over Le Moyne.
Shot 7-for-12 from the field and 3-for-6 from long range in the
victory.
Courtney May, Saint Anselm (Jr., F, Lakeville, Mass.) - Averaged a
double-double with 14 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, while
shooting 58.8 percent from the field and adding 1.5 assists and 1.0
steals per game. Had a 17-point, nine-rebound effort versus UMass
Lowell and an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double in a road win at
Southern Connecticut. The 17 points were a career high, while the
12 rebounds was also a career high.
Logan Pintka, Saint Michael's (So., F, Niskayuna, N.Y.) - In a 2-0
week, averaged 20.5 points and four rebounds per game, while
shooting 14-of-29 from the floor. Recorded 21 points in overtime
win over Southern New Hampshire.
Alexis Keller, Saint Michael's (Jr., G, Harrington Park, N.J.) - In
a 2-0 week, averaged 18 points, six rebounds, and 2.5 assists per
game. The week was highlighted with a career-best 27-point
performance in a win over Saint Rose.
Dana Brown, Saint Rose (Sr., G, Elmont, N.Y.) - Averaged 16.5
points, four rebounds and three assists in an 0-2 week. Hit 4-of-9
attempts from beyond the arc and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the
stripe. Tossed in a game-high 19 points to go with five boards and
three assists in a 67-57 setback at Assumption. Finished with 14
points, three rebounds and three assists in a 68-66 loss versus
Saint Michael's.
Megan Smith, Southern New Hampshire (So., F, Smithfield, Maine) -
Shot .688 from the floor and averaged 14 points per game in a pair
of contests. Scored career-best 14 points apiece in games against
Saint Michael's and Franklin Pierce. Also averaged three rebounds
per contest.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill (So., F, Middleboro, Mass.) - Averaged
16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in a pair of wins last
week. Had 12 points and eight rebounds in a win over Merrimack then
posted 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in a win over
Assumption.
Weekly Notes:
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL: Senior Stacy Boisvert
became the 18th player in program history to score 1,000 points
with her 18th point against the Warriors on Saturday.
FRANKLIN PIERCE: Junior All-American Johannah
Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) became the Ravens all-time steals
leader as her season-high eight steals in Saturday's win over
Southern New Hampshire give her 233 in 64 career games played. She
broke the previous record of 231 steals set by Franklin Pierce Hall
of Famer Cassie Beckwith (1992-96). Leedham also owns program
records for steals in a season (111, 2007-08) and game (11 vs.
Northwood, 12/30/06). Leedham's eight blocked shots last week give
her 60 over her career to move into sixth on the program's career
list.
MERRIMACK: Amanda Shannon became the 16th player in
women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points on
Wednesday against Stonehill.
NEW HAVEN: Senior Lauren Hood recorded her 1,000th
career point in the team’s win over Southern Connecticut on
Wednesday.
