Northeast-10 Weekly Notes:

Stonehill: Stonehill, ranked third in last week's IWLCA Division II national poll, extended its streak of consecutive weeks ranked in the top 10 to 51 straight dating back to March 2002. The Skyhawks also extended their Northeast-10 winning streak to 55 straight with a pair of league triumphs last week, a mark that dates back to April 2000. Senior M Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) became the 14th player in Division II history to reach the 200 career goal plateau with a hat trick in Saturday's win at Franklin Pierce, as she joins former Stonehill standout Katie Lambert as the two Skyhawk members of that exclusive club. Senior A Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) set the school single-season assist mark with six helpers in Wednesday's win over Southern Connecticut, breaking Lambert's single-season mark of 36 set in 2002, and also tied Lambert's career assist record of 106 with fourhelpers in Saturday's triumph over Franklin Pierce. Stonehill, winners of 38 of its last 39 outings dating back to April 2004, improved to 67-1 all-time in Northeast-10 play with last week's two-win effort? Merrimack: Merrimack has won four in a row. Merrimack has outscored its opponents, 80-23, in those four straight wins. Merrimack has scored less than 10 goals just one time this year (its loss to Stonehill). Five players have scored double-digit goals, with three players scoring more than 20 goals this season? Saint Michael's: In Saturday's win over Southern Connecticut, the Purple Knights notched a total of 14 assists, eclipsing the single game program record of 11, set during an April 25, 1984 game against Castleton State. The team also tallied 37 total points, breaking the previous record of 31, set on April 5, 1986 against New England College? Bryant: The Bulldogs improved their record to 6-3 with two wins this week over American International and Assumption. Junior Shaun Leddy leads the team in goals and points with 25 and 35 respectively. Senior Marisa Lawrence moved into the third spot for career points this week with a total of 124? Saint Anselm: Saint Anselm has won four straight games, matching the program record. The Hawks have won four straight on two other occasions during the seven seasons of the varsity program, the last of which came in 2002. Thursday's win over St. Michael's marked the first time since 2002 the Hawks have been victorious over the Purple Knights? Bentley: The Falcons won their only game during the week, 19-1 over Franklin Pierce. It was the best defensive performance (one goal allowed) and the largest margin of victory (18 goals) for Bentley since the Falcons beat AIC by the same score on April 22, 2002? Assumption: Assumption will finish a five-game road trip on Tuesday at nationally ranked Stonehill. The Hounds will return to the Multi-Sport Stadium for the first time in 18 days on Saturday when they face Bentley. Sophomore attack Jenna Goldstein (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury) recorded 6 points (3 G, 3 A) at Saint Anselm last Tuesday. Junior attack Kristin Ford (Worcester, MA/St. Mark's) had four goals last week? Southern Connecticut: Freshman G Ann Denning had seven ground balls in three games last week, a team high. In a 16-6 victory over FPC on April 10, Southern had its highest single-game scoring total since a 17-4 win over Mount St. Vincent on April 23, 2004. Freshman M Grace Martha had 8 points in her first five games before scoring 11 in three games last week. Marta leads the Owls in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers and is tied for the team lead in assists.
