South Easton, Mass. – Adelphi University jumped into the top spot of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Collegiate Association (IWLCA) poll, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.
Adelphi (13-1, 10-1 NE-10) moved up one spot from the previous week's poll to overtake Le Moyne College for first in the nation. The Dolphins (13-1, 10-0 NE-10), which dropped three spots to No. 4 in the poll, fell as a result of their 15-12 non-conference loss at No. 8 West Chester on April 16.
Le Moyne, which defeated the Panthers back in March, still owns a one-game lead over Adelphi in the Northeast-10 standings.
The Northeast-10 saw seven teams total ranked in the poll, while no other conference in the country had more than three make the top-15.
The University of New Haven (12-3, 7-3 NE-10) and Stonehill College (12-3, 9-1 NE-10) both held firm this week at the sixth and seventh positions, respectively, while Bentley University (10-5, 7-3 NE-10) came in at No. 10. Merrimack College (6-8, 6-5 NE-10) ranked 12th and Saint Anselm (8-6, 6-4 NE-10) was 13th.
