Le Moyne’s Brittany Brigandi Named Northeast-10 Player of the Year

Ten Seniors on All-Conference First Team
South Easton, Mass. – Le Moyne College's Brittany Brigandi was named the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year it was announced today. Brigandi was chosen based on a vote of the conference's head coaches.
Brigandi, who helped lead Le Moyne (15-1, 12-0) to an undefeated mark in conference play and the top seed of the Northeast-10 Championship, was also a unanimous selection to the conference's First Team. Seven different schools placed at least one student-athlete on the first team with Adelphi University leading the way with four First Team selections.

Brigandi, a senior midfielder, is currently second in the conference in goals with 61, and fifth in points with 74. She has also added 13 assists for a total of 74 points. Her 3.81 goals score per game currently rank her ninth in all of Division II.
The Dolphins, by virtue of their Northeast-10 regular season title, will host the semifinals and championship finals this weekend (Saturday, May 5 – Sunday, May 6).

Brigandi's teammate Kelly Fucillo was named the conference's Goalkeeper of the Year. Fucillo helped spearhead a Le Moyne defense that led the NE-10 in fewest goals allowed with 98. Her 55.4 save percentage currently leads the country and her 6.43 goals per game allowed also leads the nation in that category.
Fucillo has started all 16 games so far this season for Le Moyne and her win percentage of 93.8 is also among the best in the country.
Saint Anselm College's Marissa Daly was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year by the conference's head coaches. The high-scoring first year player helped lead the Hawks to an 8-8 mark overall, and 6-6 in league play.
Daly finished the year with 54 goals, which is currently fifth best in the league and was second on her team. She also added five assists giving her a total of 59 points, which currently ranks her in the top 20 of the NE-10.
Adelphi's Jackie Williams was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Williams helped lead the Panthers to a 14-2 regular season record, including 11-1 in league play, which earned them the second-seed in the NE-10 Women's Lacrosse Championship.
Williams helped lead an Adelphi defense that limited its opponents to just over seven goals per game. The sophomore has also scooped up 23 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers so far this season, while adding a goal and three assists on offense.
The University of New Haven's Jen Fallon was named the Northeast-10 Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year by her peers. Fallon, in her sixth year at New Haven, lead her team into the postseason for the fourth consecutive year, as the Chargers lost in the final seconds of their First Round game against Bentley University, 9-8.
Fallon, who also earned the award in 2009, helped lead New Haven to a 13-5 record this season, including 8-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
The Northeast-10 is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 5,500 student-athletes.
