Northeast-10 Players of the Week
Caitlin Hall, Merrimack (Jr., F, Westminster, Mass.) - Scored the
first two goals of the 3-0 victory over Stonehill in the
Northeast-10 Quarterfinals.
Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week
Shannon Rowan, Merrimack (Sr., GK, Fair Haven, N.J.) - Did not
allow a goal, stopping nine shots in 137 minutes of play this past
week over two games. Picked up two victories.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kim Rich, Bryant (Fr., F, Lancaster, Mass.) - Scored both goals in
the 2-0 win over Pace, recording three shots on goal and converting
on two of them.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Lauren Matysiak, Assumption (Sr., GK, Holden, Mass.) - In
Assumption’s only game of the week, made four saves to record
a shutout in a scoreless tie versus Stonehill.
Jessica Clark, Bryant (Jr., GK, Barnstable, Mass.) - Recorded a
shutout with a three-save win over UMass Lowell, 2-0, in the NE-10
quarterfinals. Weekly Honor Roll:
Diane Pascale, Bryant (Sr., F, Plymouth, Mass.) - Scored a goal in
the NE-10 quarterfinal win over UMass Lowell.
Holly Tyser, Bryant (So., M, Somers, Conn.) - Scored the
game-winning goal in the NE-10 quarterfinal win over UMass
Lowell.
Gabriela Demoner, Franklin Pierce (Sr., M, Curitiba, Brazil) -
Collected a goal and assist in the 3-0 victory over Saint Anselm in
the NE-10 quarterfinal. Set up the match-winning goal in the 36th
minute and scored in the 52nd minute.
Brittany Ester, Franklin Pierce (Jr., GK, Toms River, N.J.) - Made
four saves to preserve a shutout in the 3-0 NE-10 quarterfinal win
over Saint Anselm.
Jenna Giardina, Franklin Pierce (Sr., M, Pittsfield, Mass.) -
Netted the first goal in the 3-0 victory over Saint Anselm in the
NE-10 Tournament quarterfinal.
Meghan O'Shea, Le Moyne (So., F, East Syracuse, N.Y.) - Scored the
lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Southern Connecticut.
Kailey Egbert, Saint Rose (Jr., F, Camp Hill, Pa.) - Had a
game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Bentley in the NE-10
Quarterfinals.
Lauren Steinberg, Saint Rose (Sr., GK, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) -
Turned aside two shots in preserving a 1-0 victory over Bentley in
the NE-10 Quarterfinals.
Laurie Boland, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., M, Worcester, Mass.) -
Notched two assists in the 4-1 win over American International.
Lori Robinson, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., F, Bow, N.H.) - Tallied
a pair of goals in the 4-1 win over American International.
Jamie Gillis, UMass Lowell (So., GK, North Billerica, Mass.) -
Stopped 12 of 14 shots and a shutout in a 1-1 week.
Weekly Notes:
ASSUMPTION: Senior keeper Lauren Matysiak recorded
her 31st career shutout last Tuesday night in the scoreless tie
with Stonehill. She will leave the school holding numerous career
records: minutes played (6970:01), wins (39), shutouts (31), games
played (76), games started (75), and lowest goals against average
(0.93). Her 308 saves are fourth best in a career. Matysiak set
many season records in 2005, including minutes played (2181:48),
wins (15), least goals allowed (17), lowest goals against average
(0.70), shutouts (12), games played and starts (23). In 2004, she
set the longest shutout streak of 672:12 and had seven straight
shutouts.
LE MOYNE: With the 1-0 victory over Southern
Conn., the Dolphins finished 9-8-1 on the year and the second time
since 1994 that the team will finished with nine wins in a season.
SAINT ROSE: The Golden Knights advanced to the semifinal
round of the NE-10 Tournament for the sixth straight season with a
1-0 victory over Bentley on Sunday. Saint Rose also established a
school record for single-season shutouts by chalking up its 14th of
the season. The Golden Knights also registered their 50th assist,
which established a single-season school mark. Senior midfielder
Lindsay Bove (Holliston, MA) tied the school record by making her
80th career start on Saturday, while senior midfielder Ashley
McGuire (Fishkill, NY) added to her single-season assist record
with her 13th of the year.
