The Ravens quest for a record sixth National Championship were dashed in a penalty shootout (3-1) against #14 Tampa. Franklin Pierce had finished as runners-up in its last two championship appearances (2003 & 2007). The Ravens won a Division II record five national championships, with four coming from 1994-97 and the fifth in 1999. Junior goalkeeper Brittany Ester did not yield a goal in eight postseason matches, including an NCAA Division II record six in the NCAA Tournament. She carried a scoreless streak of 788:11 into her senior season. Ester's 13 shutouts this season finished just one shy of the program's single-season record.
