Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Sacha Solomon, Bryant (Sr., No. 1, Bourne, MA) - Helped lead Bryant
to its fourth-straight Northeast-10 Conference title this past
week, winning all three matches at No. 1 singles during tournament
play and was victorious in all three doubles matches versus Saint
Anselm, Bentley and Saint Michael's.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Kelly Fleszar, Bentley (Fr., No. 2 Singles, No. 2 Doubles,
Larchmont, NY) – Went 3-1 in the Northeast-10 Championships
this past week, winning both her singles and doubles matches
against Le Moyne in the quarterfinals and adding a doubles win
against Bryant in the semifinals.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Marcia Gilbride, Bentley (So., No. 4 Singles, No. 3 Doubles,
Topsham, ME) - Went 2-1 this past week in the Northeast-10
Championships winning her doubles match against Le Moyne in the
quarterfinals and her singles match against Bryant in the
semifinals.
Andrea Hollot, Bentley (So., No. 6 Singles, Easthampton, MA)
– Won her only match this past week, a 6-4, 6-4 singles
victory against Bryant in the Northeast-10 semifinals.
Kelly Nugent, Bentley (Jr., No. 3 Singles, No. 2 Doubles,
Lynnfield, MA) - Went 4-0 in the Northeast-10 Tournament this week,
winning at both singles and doubles against Le Moyne and
Bryant.
Lauren Mullen, Bryant (Jr., No. 5, Braintree, MA) - Helped secure
Bryant's fourth-straight conference championship, winning the
decisive match at No. 5 singles versus Saint Michael's in a
three-set thriller. Rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 in the
semifinals against Bentley.
Cailie Burns, Saint Michael's (Sr., No. 3 Singles, No. 1 Doubles,
Chepachet, RI) - Earned a 6-2, 6-3 singles win in the Northeast-10
semifinals at Stonehill. Added a 6-1, 6-1 singles win and an 8-4
doubles victory in the quarterfinals versus Assumption, and a 6-1,
6-4 singles win in the regular-season finale against Southern New
Hampshire.
Lindsay Horne, Saint Michael's (Fr., No. 2 singles, No. 2 Doubles,)
- Earned a 6-2, 6-0 singles win, and an 8-1 doubles victory, in the
Northeast-10 semifinals at Stonehill. Also posted a 9-7 doubles win
in the quarterfinals versus Assumption, as well as two victories in
the regular-season finale versus Southern New Hampshire.
Melissa Ramos, Southern New Hampshire (Jr., No. 5 Singles / No. 3
Doubles, Stoughton, MA) - Went 2-0 at No. 5 singles and 2-1 at No.
3 doubles during a 1-2 week. Recorded two points in a
regular-season win over Saint Anselm and two points in a
Northeast-10 quarterfinal loss to Stonehill.
Daniella Granato, Stonehill (Jr., No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles,
Concord, MA) - Posted a 3-2 combined mark in singles and doubles
play this past week. Had a pair of victories in a 5-4 Northeast-10
quarterfinal victory over Southern New Hampshire.
Lauren Rowinski, Stonehill (Fr., No. 3 Singles/#2 Doubles, Franklin
Lakes, NJ) - Posted a winning point with a three-set,
come-from-behind victory at No. 3 singles in a 5-4 Northeast-10
quarterfinal round victory over Southern New Hampshire. Also won at
No. 2 doubles in a tiebreaker against Southern New Hampshire.
Weekly Notes:
BRYANT: The Bulldogs captured their fourth-straight
conference tournament title over the weekend, defeating No. 2
Bentley in the semifinals and No. 1 Saint Michael's in the final
Sunday. Bryant is an automatic qualifier into the NCAA’s.
STONEHILL: The Skyhawks advanced to the Northeast-10 Final Four for
the seventh straight season and third under Head Coach Pam Arpe,
who has guided the Skyhawks to a 20-4 (.833) over the last two
seasons combined.
