Top Seeded Bryant Seeks Fifth Straight NE-10 Title

South Easton, Mass. – The Bryant University Bulldogs secured
the top seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Women’s Tennis
Championship presented by Webster Bank.
The Bulldogs have claimed their fourth Northeast-10 Regular Season
title in five years going undefeated in conference play at 12-0 and
will look to win their fifth straight NE-10 championship
title. Last season Bryant shared the regular season title
with Bentley and Saint Michael's.
Saint Michael’s College finished the year 10-2 in conference
play and received the second seed in the tournament, while Bentley
College (12-5, 10-2 NE-10) received the third seed due to the
Purple Knights regular season win over the Falcons. Stonehill
College (14-5, 9-3) claimed the fourth seed. All four teams will
host quarterfinal matches on Wednesday.
Quarterfinal matches include #8 Assumption College (5-7, 5-7
NE-10) at #1 Bryant, #7 Saint Anselm College (6-6, 6-6 NE-10) at #2
Saint Michael’s, #6 Southern New Hampshire (7-5, 7-5 NE-10)
at #3 Bentley and #5 Merrimack College (10-7, 8-4 NE-10) at #4
Stonehill.
Quarterfinal matches are slated for 2 p.m.
The semifinal round will be on Friday, April 25 with the winner of
Assumption/Bryant facing the winner of Merrimack/Stonehill. The
other semifinal match-up will consist of the winner of Saint
Anselm/Saint Michael’s versus the winner of Southern New
Hampshire/Bentley. Semifinal matches will take place at the highest
seeds and are set for 3 p.m.
The championship match will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April
27 at Stonehill College.
Sponsoring 23 championship sports and 15 full-time members, the
Northeast-10 is the second largest NCAA Division II athletic
conference in the nation and sponsors the most championships of any
Division II conference.
