Northeast-10 Player of the Week
Emma Czarnecki, Bryant (So., No. 1 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Huntington Woods, Mich.) - Helped lead the Bulldogs to three wins
last week with a pair of wins at number one singles and four wins
at number two doubles. Earned a 6-2, 6-4 win in the team’s
win of Bloomsburg. Also won in three sets in the team win against
Clarion.
Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Katharine Francazio, Bryant (Fr., No. 5 Singles, Cranston, R.I.) -
Won all four singles matches this past week at number five singles.
Won all in straight-sets including a 6-0, 6-2 win in the
team’s win versus Bloomsburg. Also won two doubles matches at
number three doubles in wins over Clarion and Charleston.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Katherine Giambalvo, Bentley (Jr., No. 6 Singles, Fairfield, Conn.)
- Won her only match of the week, a singles match against
Rochester.
Marcia Gilbride, Bentley (Jr., No. 4 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Topsham, Maine) - Went 4-2 this past week, winning both her singles
and doubles matches against Adelphi and Rochester.
Kelly Nugent, Bentley (Sr., No. 3 Singles/No. 1 Doubles, Lynnfield,
Mass.) - Went 4-2 overall, winning all three singles matches to
extend 10-match singles winning streak. Also won at top-flight
doubles against Adelphi.
Aimee Tetu, Bentley (Fr., No. 6 Singles, Brunswick, Maine) - Went
1-1 this past week, winning her debut against Adelphi.
Valeria Couto Cuervo, Bryant (Fr., No. 4 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) - Won three of four singles matches and all
four doubles matches. Had a 6-0, 6-0 win in the team’s win
over Bloomsburg and earned an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Joana Augustine, Pace (So., No. 4 Singles/No. 2 Doubles,
Providence, R.I.) - Posted a pair of wins at number four singles
and number two doubles against Saint Anselm.
Natalija Subotic, Pace (Jr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles, Bradenton,
Fla.) - Posted wins at number one singles and doubles in a 5-4 loss
to Saint Anselm.
Erin Sullivan, Saint Anselm (Fr., No. 5 Singles/No. 3 Doubles,
Chelmsford, Mass.) - After pairing up for an 8-3 win at number
three doubles, rallied from one set down at number five singles to
come away with the 6-7 (9-7), 6-2, 6-2 victory to lift the Hawks to
the 5-4 road win over Pace.
Rebecca Moon, Saint Rose ( Fr. , No. 1 Singles/No. 1 Doubles ,
Rancho Mirage, CA ) - Went 1-1 in a conference match at Stonehill.
Won her first singles match in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to remain
undefeated at 5-0 in league play.
Elise Clark, Stonehill (Sr., Singles, Spring Lake, N.J.) - Had two
singles and two doubles victories this past weekend.
Caitlin Ryan, Stonehill (Fr., No. 6 Singles/No. 3 Doubles,
Medfield, Mass.) - Went 4-0 this past weekend in both doubles and
singles action. Finished with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Saint Rose.
Allison Bleakney, Stonehill (Sr., Fifth Singles, Lewiston, Maine) -
Improved to 7-1 in singles action with a 2-0 weekend. Won in
straight sets 6-1, 6-1 versus LeMoyne and 6-4, 6-1 over Saint Rose.
