Northeast-10 Player of the Week

Emma Czarnecki, Bryant (So., No. 1, Huntington Woods, Mich.) - Helped lead Bryant to the conference title this past week with four wins at No. 1 doubles including all three in conference tournament matches. Picked up a straight-set win over Queen’s top player and added doubles victory in Bryant’s 6-3 win.


Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week

Katie Francazio, Bryant (Fr., No. 4, Cranston, R.I.) - Went a perfect 4-0 this past week winning all matches in straight sets. Posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 over Stonehill in the conference semifinals and helped clinch the title with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Saint Michael’s.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Kelly Nugent, Bentley (Sr., No. 1 Doubles, Lynnfield, Mass.) - Won at top-flight doubles in the NE-10 Quarterfinals against Southern New Hampshire.

Lauren Mullen, Bryant (Sr., No. 6 Singles/No. 3 Doubles, Braintree, Mass.) – Ended the week in leading Bryant to the Northeast-10 title. Went 3-0 in singles play and won four doubles matches at No. 3 doubles. Defeated Assumption 6-0, 6-1 and Stonehill 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals.

Deahna Giguere, Saint Michael's (Fr., No. 2 Singles, No. 2 Doubles, Oakland, Maine) - Helping her team advance to the Conference championship versus Bryant, won at No. 2 Singles (6-2, 6-2) and No. 2 Doubles (8-5) semifinals matches in a 5-4 win over Southern New Hampshire. Also won a quarterfinal doubles match 8-6 in a 5-0 win over Saint Anselm.

Catalina Echeverry, Southern New Hampshire (Fr., No. 1 Singles/Doubles, Cali, Colombia) - Posted a 2-0 record in two NE-10 Tournament singles matches last week, posting wins over Bentley and Saint Michael's.

Melissa Ramos, Southern New Hampshire (Sr., No. 5 Singles/No. 3 Doubles, Stoughton, Mass.) - Posted a 2-0 record at No. 3 doubles to finish the season unbeaten (13-0) and 1-1 record at No. 5 singles in two NE-10 Tournament matches.

Elise Clark, Stonehill (Sr., No. 2 Doubles, Spring Lake, N.J.) - Finished 2-0 this past week with two doubles victories at No. 2. in the 5-1 win over Merrimack and 1-5 loss to Bryant.

Lindsey Herchel, Stonehill (Fr., No. 2 Doubles, Hampden, Mass.) - Finished 2-0 this past week with two doubles victories at No. 2. in the 5-1 win over Merrimack and 1-5 loss to Bryant.

SAINT MICHAEL’S: With a 5-4 semifinal win over Southern New Hampshire on Friday, the Saint Michael's College women's tennis team won their 15th match of the season, the most in the program's 28-year history.
