Chris Croff, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Lisbon, CT) - Earned
NCAA Division II Northeast Runner of the Year honors after placing
first in the regional at Franklin Park. Registered a time of
30:52.5 to beat his nearest competitor by 26.5 seconds.
Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the
Week
Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Placed
first and was named the Northeast Region Runner of the Year for the
second straight year in leading UMass Lowell to second place at the
NCAA Northeast Regional Women's Cross Country Championship.
Finished with a time of 21:28.3, more than one minute faster than
the remainder of the field.
Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week
Katelyn Meagher, Merrimack (Fr., Mansfield, MA) - Placed second
for Merrimack and 22nd overall at the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross
Country Championships at Franklin Park. Finished with a time of
24:03.2. Was the first freshman in the NE-10 to cross the finish
line.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Melissa Nash, Bentley (So., Marshfield, MA) - Finished second at
the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. Finished with a time of
22:29.0.
Nicole Radzik, Bryant (Jr., Sutton, MA) - Placed fifth overall at
the NCAA Regional Championship, earning a trip to the NCAA National
Championship. Finished with a time of 22:51.
Jason Beausoleil, UMass Lowell (Sr., Dracut, MA) - Placed sixth in
a time of 31:41.5 and earned All-Northeast Region honors in helping
UMass Lowell to its sixth NCAA Northeast Region Championship in the
last seven years.
Christina DaLomba, UMass Lowell (So., Marstons Mills, MA) - Placed
10th overall and earned All-Northeast Region honors in a time of
23:25.8.
Joey DeWitt, UMass Lowell (Jr., Ellsworth, ME) - Placed 12th in a
time of 32:04.6 and earned All-Northeast Region honors to help
UMass Lowell men to its sixth NCAA Northeast Region Championship in
the last seven years.
Steve Plouffe, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, MA) - Placed fifth with
a time of 31:26.4 and earned All-Northeast Region honors to help
UMass Lowell to its sixth NCAA Northeast Region Championship in the
last seven years.
Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (So., Dedham, MA) - Placed seventh in a
time of 31:42.1 and earned All-Northeast Region honors to help
UMass Lowell to its sixth NCAA Northeast Region Championship in the
last seven years.
Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, MA) - Placed second in a
time of 31:19.0 and earned All-Northeast Region honors to lead
UMass Lowell to its sixth NCAA Northeast Region Championship in the
last seven years.
Emily Thomas, UMass Lowell (So., Foxboro, MA) - Placed 11th
overall and was named to the All-Northeast Region Team with a time
of 23:29.5.
Linsey Cohen, Merrimack (Sr., Holliston, MA) – Placed sixth
overall at the NCAA Northeast Regionals with a time of 23:06.6.
Jill Allen, Stonehill (Sr., Peabody, MA) - Placed 12th overall to
earn all-regional accolades in 24th-ranked Skyhawks' run to NCAA
Northeast Regional crown with a time of 23:30.
Tim Catoggio, Stonehill (Sr., Bradford, MA) - Placed ninth to earn
all-Northeast Regional accolades with a time of 31:57.
Kelly Chaisson, Stonehill (Sr., Walpole, MA) - Placed fourth
individually at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, posting
a time of 22:44 as Stonehill captured the 2006 Regional
Championship.
Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Sr., Cranston, RI) - Earned all-NCAA
Northeast Regional honors with a third place individual finish at
the NCAA Northeast Regionals, posting time of 22:42 as Stonehill
captured the 2006 Regional Championship.
Keith Gill, Stonehill (Jr., Brockton, MA) - Earned all-Northeast
Regional honors, placing third overall with time of 31:20 at the
NCAA Northeast Regionals.
David Metzger, Stonehill (Jr., Ellington, CT) - Placed fourth at
the NCAA Northeast Regional championships to earn all-regional
honors with time of 31:23.
Joe Ryan, Stonehill (Jr., Chelmsford, MA) - Earned all-regional
honors with a 10th place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regionals
with a time of 32:01.
Weekly Notes:
BENTLEY: Sophomore Melissa Nash became the
first Bentley woman to qualify for the NCAA Division II Women's
Cross Country Championships since Julie Doherty in 2001.
BRYANT: Nicole Radzik is the first Bryant
cross-country athlete to qualify for the national’s since
2003. UMASS LOWELL: Earned its sixth NCAA
Northeast Regional men’s championship in the last seven
years. STONEHILL: Captured its sixth NCAA
Northeast Regional women's championship in seven seasons with an
eight-point win Sunday to reclaim the title from runner-up UMass
Lowell, as the 24th-ranked Skyhawks will make their seventh
straight trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships. Head
Coach Karen Boen was named by her peers as the NCAA Northeast
Regional Coach of the Year for the sixth time in the last seven
years, as Stonehill completed a Northeast-10/NCAA Regional
championship sweep for the sixth time since 2000...The 15th-ranked
Skyhawk men earned their fourth straight trip to the NCAA national
championships, which will take place on November 18th as part of
the Division II Fall Sports Festival in Pensacola, Fla.
