Northeast-10 Men’s Athlete of the Week

Ruben Sanca, UMass Lowell (So., Boston, MA) - Placed fifth among 307 runners at the New England Championship and led UMass Lowell to the team title with 76 points. Ran the 10K course in 24:51.

Northeast-10 Women’s Athlete of the Week

Nicole Plante, UMass Lowell (Sr., North Adams, MA) - Placed third in a field of 314 runners at the New England Championship with a time of 17:27, just four seconds off the winner. Led UMass Lowell to 22nd among 46 teams.

Northeast-10 Men's Freshman of the Week

Chris Croff, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Lisbon, CT) - Placed ninth among 165 competitors in the Metropolitan Conference championships. Had a time of 25:46.1 with a fifth place team finish in the 13-team competition, including 11 Division I schools.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week

Andrea Topalis, Stonehill (Fr., Simsbury, CT) - Placed 124th individually at the New England Championships with a time of 19:28.

Weekly Honor Roll:

Meghan Bouchard, Bentley (Sr., Hebron, CT) - Was seventh amongst Division II runners at the New England Championships, and 112th overall. Finished with a time of 19:23.

Dan Darcy, Bentley (Fr., Sharon, MA) - Placed 27th overall with a time of 26:30, while competing in the sub-varsity race at the New England Championships.  The best by a Division II freshman in either the varsity or sub-varsity race.

Scott McGrath, Bentley (So., Francestown, NH) - Was Bentley's number one runner at the New England Championships, placing 13th amongst Division II entrants and 117th overall with a time of 26:09.

Melissa Nash, Bentley (So., Marshfield, MA) - Was fourth amongst Division II runners in the New England Championships and 57th overall, in a time of 18:50.

Samantha Robbins, Bentley (Jr., Franklin, MA) - Finished 11th amongst Division II runners and 133rd overall at the New England Championships with a time of 19:32.

Nathaniel Green, Bryant (Fr., York, ME) – Placed 208th overall at the New England Championships, in a time of 27:17.

Nicole  Radzik, Bryant (Jr., Sutton, MA) – Placed 97th overall at the New England Championships, in a time of 19:15.   

Steve Plouffe, UMass Lowell (Sr., Methuen, MA) - Placed 10th in a field of 307 runners to help UMass Lowell capture the New England Championship. Finished with a time of 25:05.

Rex Radloff, UMass Lowell (So., Dedham, MA) - Placed 11th in a field of 307 runners at the New England Championship. Posted a  time of 25:08 to help UMass Lowell to the team title.

Thomas Lichtenberger, Saint Michael's (Sr., Bloomfield, CT) - Finished 151st out of 307 runners at the New England Championships, in a time of 26:32.

Melissa Bredice, Saint Rose (Fr., Colonie, NY) - Finished the Golden Knights Joust in a winning time of 19:58. Led the women's squad to the team title.

Kelly Chaisson, Stonehill (Sr., Walpole, MA) - Placed 39th individually at the New England Championships, posting a time of 18:33.

Dana DeIngenis, Stonehill (Sr., Cranston, RI) - Placed 28th individually at the New England Championships in a time of 18:27.

Keith Gill, Stonehill (Jr., Brockton, MA) - Placed 16th individually at the New England Championships with a time of 25:13.

Joe Ryan, Stonehill (Jr., Chelmsford, MA) - Earned all-New England honors by placing ninth individually at the New England Championships, in a time of 25:05.

Weekly Notes: STONEHILL: Both Stonehill squads were ranked in last week's USTFCCAA Division II national poll, as the Skyhawk men cracked the top 10 once again in holding the ninth spot while the Stonehill women moved up two spots to the #22 position. UMASS LOWELL: The UMass Lowell men's team became the first-ever Division II or III team to win the New England Championship Saturday at Franklin Park. The River Hawks, whose top five runners were separated by only 31 seconds, scored 76 points and defeated the likes of Boston College (145), Brown (166), Connecticut (173) and Quinnipiac (177).
