The Nashua Telegraph: 'Clark Back in Action'
The Nashua Telegraph
UMass-Lowell sophomore distance runner Lyra Clark, out most of the
fall with an injury, return to action in a big way Saturday for the
River Hawks.
The Nashua South graduate finished third on her team and fifth
overall in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, helping
UMass-Lowell capture its second women’s title in four
years.
“We weren’t sure Lyra was going to run until Friday
morning,’’ UMass-Lowell coach Gary Gardner said.
“We made her race in her training shoes and sent her out
slow. She is a tough, competitive kid who ran a gutsy
race.’’
The UMass-Lowell men captured their sixth NE-10 title in nine
years, placing seven runners in the top 15. Finishing sixth for the
River Hawks and 12th overall was junior Jason DeDonato, a Nashua
South graduate.
