Southern New Hampshire Leads Going Into Final Round of NE10 Men's Golf Championship


ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Southern New Hampshire's Matt Paradis shot a tournament-leading 6-under (66) during Day One of the 2018 Northeast 10 Conference Men's Golf Championship at En-Joie Golf Club, leading the Penmen to the top spot heading into the final round on Monday.

Southern New Hampshire, which last claimed the NE10 title in 2015, is looking for their fourth overall title in men’s golf. The two-day event finishes up on Monday afternoon, as the Penmen (286) hold a narrow two-stroke lead over reigning champion Bentley (288). The Falcons were picked to win the tournament, based on the Coaches’ Poll that was released this past Thursday.

Paradis led the way for the Penmen and was joined by teammates Ryan Anderson (E, 72) and Matt Conti (+1, 73) among the top-10 individual finishers on the day. Four golfers shot under par, including Bentley’s Tommy Ethier, Le Moyne’s Nicholas Barney and Saint Rose’s Kyle Adams.

The Falcons shot even-par as a team, sitting in second place, while Franklin Pierce, Le Moyne and Assumption are tied for third at nine-over (297). In addition to Ethier, Robert Falconer shot even-par (72) and Chris Simione tallied 1-over (73) to help put Bentley in striking distance.
