MANSFIELD, Mass. - Four student-athletes representing four different Northeast 10 Conference programs have qualified to compete in the upcoming NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, which will be held from March 13-16 in Indianapolis, Ind. The list includes some of the top competitors from the NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships earlier this month in Worcester, Mass.
Leo LaPorte is representing Southern Connecticut as the only men's athlete from the NE10, qualifying for the 200 Butterfly - the race he set an NE10 record in at the league championships, finishing in a time of 1:47.56. Bentley's Kate Kaduboski will swim in the 400 Yard Individual Medley and 200 Yard IM - a pair of races she set school records for at the NE10 Championships. Saint Rose's Colleen Quaglia will also compete in the 200 Butterfly, after winning the goal medal at the NE10 Championships.
In addition, Pace's Alexis Heiney is the only NE10 diver to qualify - representing the league after her qualifying score of 406.40 in the one-meter dive at the NE10 Championships. She was named Women's Diver of the Meet following her effort in Worcester.
It is the second-straight year that Kaduboski and LaPorte have qualified to compete at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
