NE10 Championship Dates, Host Information Released for Upcoming Academic Year
MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced the dates and host information for its 2018-19 conference championship events today. This year, the conference will host 23 championships among the 24 sports that it currently sponsors. There will be no football championship game during the 2018 season.
This year's championship slate kicks off with the 2018 NE10 Men's Golf Championship September 30 - October 1, hosted by Le Moyne and will culminate with the conference's Baseball Championship in mid-May. The NE10 will host eight championships in the fall, followed by five during the winter. Seven more conference titles over the span of six championship events will occur in the spring.
Highlights of this year's NE10 Championship calendar include the weekend of November 4th, when the conference will hand out championship hardware in the sports of: men's and women's soccer and men's and women's cross country. Early March will feature the always popular men's and women's NE10 basketball Championships as the men's will be decided on March 9th, with the women's the following day. The spring slate heats up during the weekend of May 4th as six of the conference's seven spring championships will be contested. Saturday, May 4th will see NE10 softball, men's tennis, and outdoor track and field champions determined. On Sunday May 5th, championship finals in both men's and women's lacrosse will take place.
During the 2017-18 academic year 12 different institutions won NE10 titles in the league’s 24 sports, with Southern Connecticut and Stonehill leading the way with four apiece. Merrimack claimed three championships a year ago, while four other schools each won two NE10 titles.
