Highlighted among the 62 academic all-conference selections are three student-athletes that excelled at a high level not only in the classroom, but on the field of play as well, earning Northeast-10 Player of the Year accolades.   These student-athletes include Franklin Pierce University women’s basketball standout senior Johannah Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England) who was also named the Division II National Player of the Year, University of New Haven junior track & field athlete Shannon Gagne (Meriden, Conn.) who was this year’s indoor track & field Athlete of the Year and Southern Connecticut State University sophomore diver Amanda Burden (Orange, Conn.) who earned Diver of the Year honors.
Also among those recognized are five student-athlete s that have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams and include men’s basketball player A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.) from Stonehill College and women’s basketball players Elise Caira (Wakefield, Mass.) from Bentley University, Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, R.I.) and Leedham from Franklin Pierce and Emily Rousseau (Biddeford, Maine) from Stonehill.
