Panthers, Warriors Picked by Coaches to Win NE10 Divisions This Spring

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Adelphi and Merrimack were selected by the league's head coaches to take the top spots in the Northeast-10 Softball standings this spring, it was announced by the conference office today.

Merrimack topped the Northeast Division with 103 points and 12 first-place votes, while Adelphi collected 88 points and 10 votes for first place to land atop the Southwest Division.

Adelphi is the defending conference champions, having defeated Merrimack in least year's championship game. Both teams were selected to compete in the NCAA East Regional field a year ago. 

Southern New Hampshire was tabbed to finish second in the Northeast Division with 92 points, including the other three first place nods. In the Southwest Division, New Haven was second with 71 points (three first place), Le Moyne was third with 67 and Pace was fourth with 62. The Setters, who won the title in 2016, received the other two first place selections.

The first round of the NE10 Championship is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, while the Championship Weekend is set for May 3-5 and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed from the Southwest Division following First Round play.
