Embrace The Championship: Southern Connecticut, Stonehill Earn Top Seeds for Upcoming NE10 Women's Basketball Championship

Owls, Skyhawks Claim 2017-18 Women's Basketball Divisional Titles

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Southern Connectict and Stonehill have earned the two top seeds in the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Women'sm Basketball Championship, which is scheduled to begin Friday night with First Round action.

Southern Connecticut claimed the Southwest Division crown after posting a 20-8 overall record and 14-6 mark in conference play this season. The Owls earn a bye into Sunday's Quarterfinals and will host the winner of a first-round matchup between No. 4 NE Southern New Hampshire and No. 5 SW Saint Rose.

Stonehill won the Northeast Division title after going 24-2 overall and 20-1 in NE10 play this season. The Skyhawks earn a first-round bye and will host the winner of Friday night's opening-round contest between No. 4 SW Adelphi and No. 5 NE Merrimack.

The Semifinal round will take place on Thursday, March 1, with higher seeds hosting. The 2018 NE10 Championship Game will be played on Sunday, March 4, and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. If the championship game pits teams with identical seeds against one-another, it will be hosted by the team that won the regular season meeting between the two teams.
