Mullen and Lawrence Join Southern New Hampshire Women's Basketball Coaching Staff

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball coach Karen Pinkos has appointed Colleen Mullen and Lani Lawrence as assistant women's basketball coaches.

Mullen, comes to SNHU after serving as director of basketball operations at Northern Illinois University last year. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of New Hampshire where she was a two-year member of the women's basketball team. She started 57-of-58 games at point guard during her two-year career with the Wildcats and led the team in assists as a senior. She also finished second on the team in three-point field goals (42) and fifth in scoring (7.8 ppg) that year. She began her collegiate career at the University of Rhode Island and served as the starting point guard for the Rams for two seasons. She ranked second on the team in scoring as a sophomore and led the team in assists each of her two seasons.

Mullen earned her bachelorís degree in business administration and spent one year as a human resource representative at KEMA Inc., in Burlington, MA. She also worked as a color analysis for UNH women's basketball games on WNTK Radio during the 2003-04 season. She is a native of Chelmsford, Mass., and a graduate of Chelmsford High School.

Lawrence is a 2002 graduate of Northeastern University and served as assistant women's basketball coach at Emmanuel College last year. She helped the Saints to a 27-3 overall record, an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular-season and tournament titles.

Lawrence was a four-year member of the women's basketball team at Northeastern and led the Huskies to an appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament as a sophomore. A two-time team captain and two-time all-conference selection, she led the team in rebounding as a sophomore, junior and senior and closed out her four-year career ranked second in career rebounds (942) and ninth in career points (1,088). She went on to play professionally in The Netherlands for one season.

Lawrence earned her degree in psychology and has served as a clinical data research coordinator at the Center for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research within Children's Hospital Boston since 2003. She is a native of Falmouth, Mass. and a graduate of Falmouth High School.
